Multiqubit spectroscopy of Gaussian quantum noise

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2017
We introduce multi-pulse quantum noise spectroscopy protocols for spectral estimation of the noise affecting multiple qubits coupled to Gaussian dephasing environments including both classical and quantum sources. Our protocols are capable of reconstructing all the noise auto- and cross-correlation spectra entering the multiqubit dynamics.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

EGD-Net: Eigenimage Guided Diffusion Network for Hyperspectral Mixed Noise Removal

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
In this article, we study diffusion-type network methods for denoising remote sensing images with hyperspectral mixed noise (Gaussian noise and stripe noise).

Underwater surveillance in non-Gaussian noisy environment

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2020
The aim of this paper is to evaluate the performance of different filtering algorithms in the presence of non-Gaussian noise environment for tracking underwater targets, using Doppler frequency and bearing measurements.

A Novel Approach to 3D-DOA Estimation of Stationary EM Signals Using Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2020
This paper proposes a novel three-dimensional direction-of-arrival (3D-DOA) estimation method for electromagnetic (EM) signals using convolutional neural networks (CNN) in a Gaussian or non-Gaussian noise environment.

An Improved Gaussian Mixture CKF Algorithm under Non‐Gaussian Observation Noise [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2016
In order to solve the problems that the weight of Gaussian components of Gaussian mixture filter remains constant during the time update stage, an improved Gaussian Mixture Cubature Kalman Filter (IGMCKF) algorithm is designed by combining a Gaussian mixture density model with a CKF for target tracking.

Decoherence due to telegraph and 1/f noise in Josephson qubits

open access: yes, 2004
We study decoherence due to random telegraph and 1/f noise in Josephson qubits. We illustrate differences between gaussian and non gaussian effects at different working points and for different protocols.

Process‐Informed Analysis of As‐Built Metal Additive Surface Features

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces a novel method for feature‐based surface texture characterisation directly incorporating manufacturing variables into the feature extraction workflow. This marks a major step towards identifying process‐specific surface properties and their influence on part function and hence a holistic understanding of process–structure ...

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

The Optimal Noise Distribution for Privacy Preserving in Mobile Aggregation Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2014
In emerging mobile aggregation applications (e.g., large-scale mobile survey), individual privacy is a crucial factor to determine the effectiveness, for which the noise-addition method (i.e., a random noise value is added to the true value) is a simple ...
