Simulation techniques for generalized Gaussian densities [PDF]

open access: yes
This contribution deals with Monte Carlo simulation of generalized Gaussian random variables. Such a parametric family of distributions has been proposed in many applications in science to describe physical phenomena and in engineering, and it seems also

Low‐Pressure Plasma‐Based Wrinkling of PDMS and Machine Learning‐Driven Property Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Wrinkled surfaces are well‐suited for controlled surface deformations in the µm range. The key challenge is the relation between the resulting wrinkle features and the necessary process conditions. Machine learning techniques have solved the prediction and inverse design problems for various preparation conditions, opening a precisely controlled ...

Anisotropy of Random Fields in Stochastic Fem

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 1995
The anisotropy of a random variable consisting of rectangular local averages of a Gaussian, isotropic and homogeneous random field is presented. The analysis deals with fields having exponential correlation functions.

Amorphous IGZO, Crystalline IGO, Amorphous IGZO Triple Active Layer With 2D Electron Gas at Both Interfaces for High Performance TFTs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The dual‐gate coplanar a‐IGZO/C‐IGO/a‐IGZO TFT is investigated, exhibiting a high filed‐effect mobility of 53.81 cm2 V−1s−1 with excellent stability. The amorphous IGZO layer provides smooth surface, which carrier scattering and high‐quality interface between gate insulator and active layer.

REDUNDANCY IN GAUSSIAN RANDOM FIELDS

open access: yes
We introduce and study a notion of spatial redundancy in Gaussian random fields. we define similarity functions with some properties and give insight about their statistical properties in the context of image processing.

Photoluminescence Reshaping via Structural Confinement and Local Density of Optical States Control in Ir(III)‐Doped Biodegradable Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Phosphorescent biodegradable metasurface showing vibronic selection and spectral photoluminescence narrowing. Anti‐correlation between experimental LDOS and measured lifetimes. ABSTRACT Metasurfaces incorporating phosphorescent emitters offer a route to engineer radiative and vibronic processes beyond chemical design.

Large‐Area Flat Optics Color Routing in Tilted Arrays of 2D Semiconductor Nanostripes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a scalable flat optics platform exploiting self‐organised ion‐beam sputtering and maskless glancing‐angle deposition to fabricate centimetre‐scale arrays of tilted MoS2 nanostripes. The engineered geometry activates Rayleigh anomalies, guided modes, and Mie resonances, enabling highly directional color routing and enhanced light harvesting ...

Wavelength‐Multiplexed 2D Beam Steering via a Passive Diffractive Network

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Illustration of a wavelength‐multiplexed diffractive beam steering system, which is composed of K cascaded diffractive layers, each containing phase‐modulating elements that are jointly optimized using deep learning–based optimization. When illuminated with a set of wavelengths {λ1,λ2,…,λNw}$\{ {{{\lambda }_1},{{\lambda }_2},\ldots ,{{\lambda }_{{{N}_w}

Gaussian Zonoids, Gaussian determinants and Gaussian random fields

open access: yes
We study the Vitale zonoid (a convex body associated to a probability distribution) associated to a non--centered Gaussian vector. This defines a family of convex bodies, that contains and generalizes ellipsoids, which we call Gaussian zonoids.
