Using expert elicitation to predict feral cat, Felis catus, responses to management

We generated estimates of lethal feral cat management success for 864 scenarios, only 71 lethal management scenarios met a population reduction target of 57%. Cat‐targeted poison baits, in dry conditions and arid areas were most successful. Feral cat management requires continued adaptive strategies to reduce cat impacts.

Single‐Particle Characterization Reveals Heterogeneous Extracellular Vesicle Fusion with Liposomes

This study used five orthogonal single‐particle techniques to compare how common mechanical methods fuse extracellular vesicles with liposomes. By quantifying fused‐particle yield, purity, and vesicle integrity, we found that freeze‐thaw and sonication generated the highest fusion but that all methods introduced membrane perturbation or damage.

Using artificial neural networks to explain the attraction of jewel beetles (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) to colored traps

Jewel beetles can discriminate leaf feeding sites and bark oviposition sites based upon the opponent comparison of their blue, green, and red photoreceptor signals. Through this mechanism, green traps resemble leaves, and purple traps resemble bark, explaining their different attractiveness to males and females.
