Antimicrobial resistance and prevalence of Listeria species from raw milk and dairy products in Burdur, Turkey. [PDF]
Graphical Abstract: No evidence of Listeria monocytogenes was found in Burdur's public bazaars’ raw milk or dairy products. Some strains of Listeria were isolated from other dairy products (cheese and yogurt) other than raw milk in the Burdur public bazaars. Some of the Listeria spp. were associated with genes effective in biofilm formation.

Solvent-Based and Matrix-Matched Calibration Methods on Analysis of Ceftiofur Residues in Milk and Pharmaceutical Samples Using a Novel HPLC Method. [PDF]
Prepared standard ceftiofur solution is added to 2 mL of milk sample. The solution is stirred for 20 min. For the protein, precipitation was added to 4 mL of acetonitrile to the solution. The heterogeneous solution is stirred and sonicated for 20 min. The solution is centrifuged at 5180 rpm for 15 min.

The founder of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has a unique place for the Turkish military culture. However, this commitment has mostly remained symbolic and the military has acted highly different to what Atatürk had desired. Following his death in 1938, the military claimed a guardianship duty to preserve Atatürk's “secular” republic.

Abstract This study examines the impact of mandatory maternal education on child health in Turkey, where a non‐trivial fraction of families restricted their daughters’ schooling due to social and cultural barriers. The analysis employs two large data sets and exploits a quasi‐experiment involving an education reform that increased compulsory schooling.
