Volatile organic compounds (VOC) emitted by Trogoderma variabile at different life stages (larvae, female and male) can help us to understand the chemical signals that are released by the beetle which can serve as biomarkers for diagnostic purpose. There are several factors that effect on the optimization of VOC extraction including, temperature, jar ...

Low‐Temperature Reverse Water–Gas Shift Enabled by Magnetically Induced Catalysis
Magnetically induced catalysis using standard Cu–Al spinel‐derived catalyst functionalized with carbon‐coated iron nanoparticles enables high CO yield (up to 62%) at mild catalyst and reactor temperatures (estimated at 300°C and determined as 25–123°C, respectively).

A comparison of new measurements of total monoterpene flux with improved measurements of speciated monoterpene flux [PDF]
Many monoterpenes have been identified in forest emissions using gas chromatography (GC). Until now, it has been impossible to determine whether all monoterpenes are appropriately measured using GC techniques.

This study demonstrates that pulsed potential electrolysis significantly improves CO2 reduction performance on copper‐nitrogen doped carbon electrodes. The formation of cationic copper sites and metallic clusters as a function of applied intermittent potential leads to notable selectivity changes compared to potentiostatic reduction.

We report a dual chemical looping/catalytic process coupling alkane dehydrogenation with aromatic alkylation over Cu‐mordenite, yielding up to 25% alkylated aromatics with >95% selectivity per cycle. In situ NMR, FTIR spectroscopy, and DFT show alkylation proceeds via a π‐bound Cu(I)–olefin intermediate and Brønsted acid sites.

Study on the content and profile of MOSH and MOAH in unprocessed meat by LC/GC × GC-FID/MS
Mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOH) contamination was evaluated in 30 samples of various unprocessed meats. Preliminary tests showed that a saponification method with a 2 M KOH solution was the most adequate for sample treatment for meat. Most of the meat samples showed saturated MOH (MOSH) in a carbon chain length range that could have accumulated by the ...
