Spatiotemporal Droughts Propagation and Direct Driving Variables Under Climate Change Projections: A Case Study of Tunisia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Drought spatiotemporal propagation and direct driving variables are assessed at multiple time steps with high spatial resolution using various drought indices (SPI, SPEI and SPDI) and entropy based mutual information under an ensemble of climate change projections over Tunisia. ABSTRACT Projecting drought occurrence and spatiotemporal propagation under

Titan's atmosphere as observed by Cassini/VIMS solar occultations: CH$_4$, CO and evidence for C$_2$H$_6$ absorption

open access: yes, 2014
We present an analysis of the VIMS solar occultations dataset, which allows us to extract vertically resolved information on the characteristics of Titan's atmosphere between 100-700 km with a characteristic vertical resolution of 10 km.

Dry‐Season Water Deficits in the Southwestern Amazon Under High Emissions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Projected climatic water deficit in the study region indicates a longer and more intense dry season, with delays in the onset of the wet season under higher emission scenarios. These changes, particularly, pronounced under SSP5‐8.5, suggest increased ecological vulnerability and greater seasonal water stress.

How representative is the spread of climate projections from the 5 CMIP5 GCMs used in ISI-MIP?

open access: yes, 2016
In many studies that use data from Coupled Model Inter-comparisons Project Five (CMIP5) the large number of models included prohibits the use of data from all models. Studies based on small subsets of CMIP5 may therefore exclude a significant fraction of

Projected Annual and Monsoonal Precipitation Trends of CMIP6 Over Peninsular Malaysia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
In this study, we examined historical and projected precipitation temporal trends across Peninsular Malaysia using ground‐based records and CMIP6 models from NEX‐GDDP. Analysing data from 518 reliable gauges over 1973–2022, it identified spatial and monsoonal variations.

The reversibility of sea ice loss in a state-of-the-art climate model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Rapid Arctic sea ice retreat has fueled speculation about the possibility of threshold (or ‘tipping point’) behavior and irreversible loss of the sea ice cover. We test sea ice reversibility within a state-of-the-art atmosphere–ocean global climate model
