Track‐Dependent Links Between Tropical Cyclones and Extratropical Predictability in Physical and AI Models

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 13, 16 July 2026.
Abstract Global medium‐range weather forecasts suffer occasional failures (“busts”) linked to tropical cyclones (TCs). We investigate TC influences on extratropical predictability by comparing forecasts from a physics‐based model (ECMWF‐IFS) and an AI‐hybrid model (Google‐NGCM) initialized near TC genesis.

Clusterization‐Triggered Emission from Cellulose‐Based Luminophores in Dilute Aqueous Solution through Imine Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 58, 20 July 2026.
Clusterization‐triggered emission is realized in dilute aqueous solution by introducing imine linkages into cellulose‐based luminophores. Imine functionalization creates O/N‐rich, hydrogen‐bonded clustered microenvironments that stabilize emissive states and restrict molecular motions. Luminescence is tunable by amine type and multiplicity.

Alzheimer's Disease Co‐Pathology and Cognitive Impairment in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 100, Issue 1, Page 123-138, July 2026.
Objectives Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) share neuropathological features, including tau, amyloid, and TDP‐43 pathology. This study investigated whether AD‐related pathological changes are associated with cognitive impairment ALS. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF total‐tau, phosphorylated‐tau, beta‐amyloid) and plasma

Pharmacokinetics, safety, tolerability and fluorescence imaging of nizaracianine triflutate administered in three divided doses to healthy volunteers

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 7, Page 2085-2094, July 2026.
Aim Fluorescence‐guided surgery enhances intraoperative visualization of anatomical structures. Nizaracianine is a near‐infrared fluorescent agent that is exclusively renally cleared in animal models. It enables real‐time ureteral imaging and identification, potentially reduces risk of injury and facilitates assessment before surgical closure.

Bioequivalence of Two Firsekibart Subcutaneous Formulations: A Randomized, Double‐Blind, Single‐Dose, Parallel‐Group Study in Healthy Chinese Participants

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract We evaluated the pharmacokinetic (PK) bioequivalence and safety of a new formulation of firsekibart (solution for injection) compared with firsekibart lyophilized powder for solution. In this randomized, double‐blind, parallel‐group study, healthy Chinese adult males received a single subcutaneous dose of 200 mg firsekibart solution for ...

Assessment of Abuse Potential‐Related Effects of Oral Dried Kratom Leaf Powder in Healthy Normal Participants Following Single and Multiple Daily Doses

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 18, Issue 7, Page 922-932, July 2026.
In a randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled study of oral dried kratom leaf powder in healthy kratom‐naive adults, no participants met the clinically meaningful opioid withdrawal threshold; abuse‐related treatment‐emergent adverse events occurred more frequently at higher doses but were generally mild and resolved without sequelae; and no serious
