Application of GCV in Geophysical Diffraction Tomography

69th EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2007, 2007
P032 Application of GCV in Geophysical Diffraction Tomography E. Santos (CEFET/BA and Stanford University) & A. Bassrei* (Federal University of Bahia) SUMMARY Since inverse problems are usually ill-posed it is necessary to use some method to reduce their deficiencies. The method that we choose is the regularization by derivative matrices.

General catalogue of variable stars: Version GCVS 5.1

Astronomy Reports, 2017
Work aimed at compiling detailed catalogs of variable stars in the Galaxy, which has been carried out continuously by Moscow variable-star researchers since 1946 on behalf of the International Astronomical Union, has entered the stage of the publication of the 5th, completely electronic edition of the General Catalogue of Variable Stars (GCVS).

Surface fitting using GCV smoothing splines on supercomputers

Proceedings of the 1995 ACM/IEEE conference on Supercomputing (CDROM) - Supercomputing '95, 1995
The task of fitting smoothing spline surfaces to meteorological data such as temperature or rainfall observations is computationally intensive. The Generalised Cross Validation (GCV) smoothing algorithm is O(n3) computationally, and memory requirements are 0(n2). Fitting a spline to a moderately sized data set of, for example.

Stable expression of green fluorescent protein mediated by GCV in Giardia canis

Parasitology International, 2008
Giardia canis can be infected with a double-stranded RNA virus, that is giardiavirus (G. canis virus, GCV). In this study, green fluorescent protein (GFP) was stably expressed in G. canis mediated by GCV. The plasmid pNEO/GDH/MCS/GFP, containing the neomycin phosphotransferase (NEO) encoding region flanked by the 636 nt of 5'-terminus and the 2174 nt ...

Viral load and ganciclovir (GCV) concentration in cerebrospinal fluid of patients successfully treated with GCV or valGCV for human herpesvirus 6 encephalitis/myelitis following umbilical cord blood transplantation

Transplant Infectious Disease, 2016
AbstractWe describe successful treatment of 3 cases of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV‐6) encephalitis/myelitis following cord blood transplantation (CBT). Ganciclovir (GCV) (10 mg/kg/day) reduced HHV‐6 load to undetectable levels in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Early dose reduction in the presence of HHV‐6 detectable in CSF resulted in an increased HHV‐6 load.

A GCV based method for nonlinear ill-posed problems

Computational Geosciences, 2000
The authors deal with the solution of the nonlinear ill-posed equation \(F(m)=b\), where \(F:\mathbb{R}^M \to\mathbb{R}^N\) is a differentiable operator with \(M >N\), and right-hand side \(b\) is noisy. Let \(\phi(\beta, m)=\|F(m)-b\|^2+ \beta \|W(m-m_{\text{ref}}) \|^2\) be the Tikhonov functional of the problem.

A novel GCV-based criterion for parametric PSF estimation

2014 12th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP), 2014
We propose a generalized cross validation (GCV) as a novel criterion for estimating a point spread function (PSF) from the degraded image only. The PSF is obtained by minimizing this new objective functional over a family of Wiener processings. Based on this estimated PSF, we then perform deconvolution using our recently developed SURE-LET algorithm ...

On the choice of tuning parameters for use with Robust GCV, Modified GCV and the Discrepancy Principle in the inversion of ARXPS data

Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 2014
Abstract Composition depth profiles were extracted from simulated ARXPS data using regularization, with the regularization parameter determined by three different methods (Robust GCV, Modified GCV, and the Discrepancy Principle) that require tuning parameters.
