Computational approach of piezoelectric shells by the GDQ method

Composite Structures, 2010
Abstract A piezoelectric laminated cylindrical shell with shear rotations effect under the electromechanical loads and four sides simply supported boundary condition was studied by using the two-dimensional generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) computational method.

The GDQ approach to thermally nonlinear generalized thermoelasticity of a hollow sphere

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2016
Abstract The present research deals with the thermoelastic response of a thick sphere based on the Lord–Shulman theory of generalized thermoelasticity. Unlike the other available works in which energy equation is linearized, the assumption of ignorance of temperature change in comparison to the reference temperature is not established in this ...

Application of GDQ scheme to simulate natural convection in a square cavity

International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, 1994
Abstract The global method of generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) was applied to simulate the natural convection in a square cavity. Numerical results demonstrated that accurate solutions can be obtained using just a few grid points and requiring much less computational effort and storage.

Magneto-electro-elastic vibration of moderately thick FG annular plates subjected to multi physical loads in thermal environment using GDQ method by considering neutral surface

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and Applications, 2019
The vibration analysis of an annular plate made up of functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic materials subjected to multi physical loads is presented.

GDQ computation for thermal vibration of thick FGM plates by using fully homogeneous equation and TSDT

Thin-walled structures, 2019
The third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT) effects on the thick functionally graded material (FGM) plates with fully homogeneous equation under thermal vibration are investigated by using the generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method.

The Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS)–Meal and GDQS-Menu Metrics: How to Measure Meal and Menu Quality in Institutional Feeding Programs

Nutrition Reviews
Abstract To achieve equitable, environmentally sustainable, and nutritious food systems, transformational change is needed. One potential path to such change is through institutional feeding programs, such as schools feeding. Despite the wide reach of institutional feeding programs there has not until recently been a simple yet rigorous ...

3D capability of refined GDQ models for the bending analysis of composite and sandwich plates, spherical and doubly-curved shells

Thin-walled structures, 2018
The paper proposes a comparative study between different analytical and numerical three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) shell models for the bending analysis of composite and sandwich plates, spherical and doubly-curved shells subjected to a ...
