Particle induced X-ray emission (PIXE) is an important physical effect that is not yet adequately modelled in Geant4. This paper provides a critical analysis of the problem domain associated with PIXE simulation; it evaluates the conceptual approach, design and implementations of PIXE modelling so far available in Geant4, and describes a set of ...

The Geant4-based BABAR simulation
2003 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium. Conference Record (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37515), 2003The simulation production code for the BABAR experiment is based on the Geant4 toolkit. In a typical e/sup +/e/sup -/ - /spl Upsi/(4s) = B/sup 0/B/sup 0/ event, between 30 and 60 tracks are produced in the generator and propagated through the detector, using decay, electromagnetic and hadronic processes provided by the Geant4 toolkit.

GEANT4 simulations of the DANCE array
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2007Abstract The detector for advanced neutron capture experiments (DANCE) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is used for neutron capture cross sections measurements. Its high granularity of 160 BaF 2 detectors in a 4 π geometry allows for highly efficient detection of prompt γ-rays following a neutron capture. The performance of the detector was
