Geant4 simulation of sFLASH experiment [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 35th International Cosmic Ray Conference — PoS(ICRC2017), 2017
The goal of Super Fluorescence Air SHower (sFLASH) is to reduce the current fluo-rescence yield systematic uncertainty to improve energy measurement of ultra-high en-ergy cosmic rays. The experiment was performed at SLAC National Accelerator Labora-tory to measure the air fluorescence yield from extensive air showers.

Beam Simulation Tools for Geant4

open access: yes, 2002
Geant4 is a tool kit developed by a collaboration of physicists and computer professionals in the High Energy Physics field for simulation of the passage of particles through matter. The motivation for the development of the Beam Tools is to extend the Geant4 applications to accelerator physics.

A Low‐Power Radioisotope XRF Spectrometer for Detection of Light Elements on Planetary Missions

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current X‐ray spectrometers for in situ geochemical analysis on planetary missions typically rely either on X‐ray tubes, which demand electrical power and add mass and thermal complexity, or on alpha particle X‐ray spectrometers (APXS) that use rare 244Cm$$ {}^{244}\mathrm{Cm} $$ sources, and come with severe concerns on radiation safety and ...

Brachytherapy Dosimetry Parameter Measurement for Cobalt-60 Source using Monte Carlo Simulations Geant4, and Comparing the Results with Standard BEBIG Source

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2020
Background: Brachytherapy is used to treat cancer in a short distance with radiation from the radionuclide sources located inside the capsule. This type of treatment is directly treated with direct irradiation, in or near the treatment area; then the ...

Model Calculations for Cosmogenic Nuclides in Meteorites and the Lunar Surface. 1. Long‐lived Radionuclides

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Production rates for the cosmogenic radionuclides 10Be, 14C, 26Al, 36Cl, 41Ca, 53Mn, and 60Fe in a large variety of meteorites, that is, ordinary chondrites (H, L, LL), carbonaceous chondrites, HED meteorites, ureilites, Martian meteorites, and iron meteorites and in the uppermost ~2 m of the lunar surface are modeled.

GEANT4 Montecarlo simulations: a multithread approach [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The Golden Age of Cataclysmic Variables and Related Objects IV — PoS(GOLDEN 2017), 2018
In this paper we will show the hardware and software implementation of the gforcr computing cluster operating in the LCD laboratory at the IAPS / INAF headquarters in Rome. The comput- ing system is used to perform Monte Carlo simulations using the GEANT4 toolkit in multithread mode. The simulations are designed to evaluate and reduce the background of

Generalizability of deep learning–based dose conversion model in proton beam therapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Background In proton beam therapy (PBT), the analytical pencil beam (PB) algorithm involves dose uncertainties in inhomogeneous regions, making accurate Monte Carlo (MC) dose calculation desirable but time‐consuming. Deep learning, converting the dose calculated by the PB algorithm into an MC‐equivalent dose distribution, can resolve the trade‐

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 21, 12 March 2026.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
