A VecGeom navigator plugin for Geant4 [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
VecGeom is a geometry modeller library with hit-detection features as needed by particle detector simulation at the LHC and beyond. It was incubated by a Geant-R&D initiative and the motivation to combine the code of Geant4 and ROOT/TGeo into a single ...

Precision analysis of Geant4 condensed transport effects on energy deposition in detectors

open access: yes, 2012
A comprehensive analysis of the effects of Geant4 algorithms for condensed transport in detectors is in progress. The first phase of the project focuses on electron multiple scattering, and studies two related observables: the longitudinal pattern of ...

Photonuclear Population of 229m,gTh in Th‐Doped Crystals Toward Nuclear Clock Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a novel photonuclear approach for producing the nuclear clock isomer 229mTh in thorium‐doped crystals, overcoming current supply limitations. Through cross‐section calculations and Monte Carlo simulations, we identify optimal crystal materials and irradiation conditions, achieving high signal‐to‐noise ratios.

Effectiveness of Geant4 in Monte Carlo Simulation Studyofphonon Conduction in Sn Host with Si Nanowire Interface

open access: yesAnnals of West University of Timisoara: Physics, 2019
We have explored the effectiveness of Geant4 by using it to simulate phonon conduction in Sn Host with Si Nanowire Interface. Our Monte Carlo Simulation shows that the effectiveness of the phonon conduction Geant4 simulation increases when the system ...

A point library for the fast simulation of the LHCb calorimeter [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The simulation of physics events in the LHCb experiment uses the majority of the experiment’s distributed computing resources. Most of the computing time is spent on the Geant4-based detailed detector simulation, with approximately 50% of it dedicated to

Re-engineering a nanodosimetry Monte Carlo code into Geant4: software design and first results

open access: yes, 2009
A set of physics models for nanodosimetry simulation is being re-engineered for use in Geant4-based simulations. This extension of Geant4 capabilities is part of a larger scale R&D project for multi-scale simulation involving adaptable, co-working ...
