Table Sliding Taper Hobbing of Conical Gear Using Cylindrical Hob. Part 2: Hobbing of Conical Involute Gear

First this paper discusses an imaginary generating rack when an involute hob is used, on the basis of the theoretical analysis in Part 1 of this paper. Next a conical involute gear generated by the rack is analyzed. Finally, practical hobbing is discussed. Some test gears are cut and inspected.
