Involute Gear Pumps Versus Lobe Pumps: A Comparison

Journal of Mechanical Design, 1997
In previous studies we have considered several types of positive displacement rotary pumps and deeply analyzed the generation of the flow rate and the design limits. This has been done in order to evaluate the main performance indexes; one of which, the flow rate irregularity, is related to the possibility that the pump becomes a source of vibration ...

Involute Gear Pumps Versus Lobe Pumps: A Comparison

Volume 3: 22nd Design Automation Conference, 1996
Abstract In previous studies we have considered several types of positive displacement rotary pumps and deeply analyzed the generation of the flow rate and the design limits. This has been done in order to evaluate the main performance indexes: one of these, the flow rate irregularity, is related to the possibility that the pump becomes ...

Gear Pump Noise

2018
A numerical-experimental integrated approach is described aimed at obtaining sufficiently accurate predictions of the noise field emitted by an external gear pump by means of some vibration measurements on its external casing. FFT acceleration spectra were experimentally acquired (PULSE code) only in some positions of a 8.5 cc/rev external gear pump ...

Gear pump assisted extrusion

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1992
Abstract Gear pump assisted extrusion is becoming popular in the plastics processing industries. The growth has been tremendous since 1980. In this study, the benefits of gear pump assisted extrusion, especially in single screw applications, is critically reviewed, and a method of predicting the operational conditions of the gear pump

Designing a Pumping System of Gear Pumps Featuring the Involute Internal Gearing

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
On the basis of the analysed references it has been shown that an important problem in designing hydraulic machines is to develop a method of designing a pumping system of pumps with the internal gearing, which would integrate designing gears and compenstion elements.

A gear pump based on harmonic gear drive

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2013
Aimed at solving the problems of radial fluid pressure imbalance, bigger flow ripple and shorter service life that exists in traditional gear pumps, a new type of gear pump based on the principle of harmonic gear drive is put forth, where the function for pumping fluid is achieved by mutual engagement between flexible gear and rigid gear.

GEAR PUMP

2010
The present invention relates to a gear pump, for example a paint pump. The sealing of the drive shaft which is guided outward of the pump housing is carried out by a sealing means which is acted upon by a pressure medium. Said pressure medium is independent from the conveying medium and can be placed under pressure by means of a piston.

High Pressure Gear Pumps

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1992
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Hydraulic operating pressures on offhighway vehicles have increased steadily over the years. Depending on the function, the majority of the systems now operate between 2250 psi and 3500 psi. External gear pumps have provided the reliability and performance required for most of these applications and with ...
