Control System for the Navigation of the Agricultural Robots: A Review

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 43, Issue 5, Page 3474-3505, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Control systems for the navigation of autonomous agricultural robots—particularly those operating in uneven terrain and in the presence of static or dynamic obstacles—have advanced considerably in recent years. As conventional machinery evolves toward increasingly automated systems, the design of reliable navigation controllers has become ...

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 8, Page 4326-4336, August 2026.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. Application of a novel molecular diagnostic method to examine the spatio‐temporal trends of Carcelia iliaca, a larval parasitoid of oak processionary moth (Thaumetopoea processionea)

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 348-356, August 2026.
The oak processionary moth is an invasive pest in the United Kingdom that threatens biodiversity and public health, with rising control costs highlighting the need for sustainable management alternatives Conservation biocontrol using the parasitoid fly Carcelia iliaca is promising but key biological data gaps hinder evidence‐based policy development. ‘The Right to Have a Family Should Not Be Determined by Your Postcode’: Rural Community Experiences With Fertility Care

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Rural Health, Volume 34, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Women in rural and remote Queensland face greater challenges in accessing fertility care than those residing in large regional or metropolitan centres of Australia. This study aims to explore the experiences of women accessing fertility care while living in a rural or remote area of Queensland and their perspectives on ways to ...

Of cables and threads

open access: yesAmerican Ethnologist, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 283-295, August 2026.
Abstract Over the past two decades, gondola lifts have become central to interventions in urban Latin America's auto‐constructed peripheries. As cable car urbanism reshapes the city's edge, it raises fundamental questions about the notion of the “urban fabric” as a sociomaterial practice, an epistemology, and a site of politics.
