White Geese Intermediate between Ross' Geese and Lesser Snow Geese
The Auk, 1971THIS paper describes white geese with morphological characteristics intermediate between the Ross' Goose (Chen rossii) and the Lesser Snow Goose (Chen hyperborea hyperborea). Although the parentage of these intermediate white geese is unknown, they apparently represent the hybridization of Ross' Geese and Lesser Snow Geese in the wild. Johnsgard (1960)

Respiration Physiology, 1968Abstract Air sac pressures and tracheal airflow were measured simultaneously in unanesthetized geese. The P O 2 and P CO 2 in the air sacs, end-tidal air and arterial blood were also measured. Pressure fluctuations in all air sacs were in phase and equal in magnitude. It is concluded that air sacs fill and empty synchronously.

The Cytogenetics of Domestic Geese
Journal of Heredity, 1988Hybrids were produced between an African male and several Pilgrim female domestic geese. Partial karyotypes revealed a difference in the fourth largest pair of autosomal chromosomes. This chromosome pair was metacentric in the African, submetacentric in the Pilgrim, and heteromorphic in the hybrids.

Mycoplasma infection of geese 1. Incidence of mycoplasmas and acholeplasmas in geese
Avian Pathology, 1975This paper presents data about the isolation of members of the order Mycoplasmatales from material of goose origin. Acholeplasma laidlawii strains were isolated from 2 to 8 day old goslings with heavy fibrinous airsacculitis, peritonitis and perihepatitis. Losses reached 30% of the flock by the end of the 8th week of age.
