Abstract Gibbs ringing is an artifact that occurs physically in many signal and image acquisition modalities. Gegenbauer reconstruction is an approach to reducing Gibbs artifacts based on polynomial smoothing of continuous regions of the signal using Gegenbauer polynomials.
