Microporous gel electrolyte Li-ion battery
Journal of Power Sources, 2004Abstract This paper describes the fabrication and performance of microporous gel electrolyte (MGE) Li-ion batteries. Fabrication of the MGE battery includes three steps: (1) making a microporous membrane separator by the phase inversion method, (2) activating the battery with a liquid electrolyte, and (3) forming MGE in situ by cycling the battery ...

Gel polymer electrolytes based on PMMA
Electrochimica Acta, 2001New polymer gels (based on PMMA/PC) containing Li, Na, Mg, and Zn perchlorates were prepared. The conductivity of gels containing cations of smaller ionic radii (Li and Mg) is lower than that of the others.

Electrochemistry of polyvinyl acetate gel electrolytes
Solid State Ionics, 2002Abstract This paper describes the first example of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) used as a gel electrolyte with a short-chain polyethylene glycol (MPEG-400) as a plasticizer. The polymer films are solid and sticky. Background cyclic voltammetry (CV) shows a potential window between +0.4 and −0.7 V vs. AgQRE.

Bacto agar-based gel polymer electrolyte
Ionics, 2011The biopolymer of a Bacto agar-based gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) was prepared by addition of NaI and I2 as redox couple. The prepared GPE was characterized using impedance spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) in order to determine its electrical and structural properties, respectively.

Polymer gel electrolytes for lithium batteries
Russian Chemical Reviews, 2012The data on the most promising polymer gel electrolytes for lithium batteries published in the past decade are surveyed and described systematically. Gel electrolytes with matrices of polyethylene oxide, poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its copolymer with hexafluoropropylene, poly(methyl methacrylate), polyacrylonitrile, poly(vinyl chloride) and ...

Diffusion coefficients of electrolytes in gels
Journal of Chemical Education, 1968This paper demonstrates how diffusion coefficients can be determined from changes in the concentration of a solution placed above a gel.
