Transport in polymer-gel composites: Theoretical methodology and response to an electric field

open access: yes, 2006
A theoretical model of electromigrative, diffusive and convectivetransport polymer-gel composites is presented. Bulk properties are derived from the standard electrokinetic model with an impenetrable charged sphere embedded in an electrolyte-saturated ...

Exploiting the Functionality of Cerium Oxide‐Modified Carbon Nanohorns Catalysts Toward Enhanced CO2 Reduction Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A cerium oxide‐carbon nanohybrid catalyst is synthesized via two distinct routes and is integrated into H‐type cells and gas diffusion layers (GDLs) to enhance electrochemical performance. Structural variations significantly affect performance, with the solvothermal sample exhibiting higher current densities.

Synthesis and characterization of PMMA based polymer gel electrolyte [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A series of PMMA (poly(methyl methacrylate)) and NaI based polymer gel electrolytes were prepared with different concentration of O/Na ratio. Here we have chosen the values of O/Na ratio as O/Na=20, 40, 60, 80 and 100. For the preparation of the samples,

Transparent Inorganic–Organic Bilayer Neural Electrode Array and Integration to Miniscope System for In Vivo Calcium Imaging and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the BioCLEAR system, a highly transparent and conductive neural electrode array composed of silver nanowires (AgNWs) and doped PEDOT:PSS, enabling neural recordings with minimal optical artifacts. When integrated with a GRIN lens, this cost‐effective neural implant allows simultaneous electrophysiological recording and GCaMP6‐based ...

Advanced Gel Polymer Electrolyte for Lithium-Ion Polymer Batteries

open access: yesASME 2013 7th International Conference on Energy Sustainability, 2013
We report improved performance of Li-ion polymer batteries through advanced gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). Compared to solid and liquid electrolytes, GPEs are advantageous as they can be fabricated in different shapes and geometries; also ionic properties are significantly superior to that of solid and liquid electrolytes.

Theory of electrical conductivities of ferrogels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Conductive organic polymers can be formulated with polymers that incorporate fine dispersed metallic particles. In this work, we present a general model for ferrogels which are chemically cross-linked polymer networks swollen with a ferrofluid. Our aim

Ion rectification based on gel polymer electrolyte ionic diode

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
AbstractBiological ion channels rely on ions as charge carriers and unidirectional ion flow to produce and transmit signals. To realize artificial biological inspired circuitry and seamless human-machine communication, ion-transport-based rectification devices should be developed.
