Gelcasting of Alumina-Spinel Refractories
Key Engineering Materials, 2008The preparation process of alumina-spinel slurries by using micro-sized alumina-spinel mixtures as raw materials was investigated. The slurries with solids content of 62 vol% and viscosity of 0.3 Pa·s were prepared by adding self-made dispersant ANSP which was a mixture of AN-2000 and STP in mass ratio of 4 to 1.

Controllable Forming Technology in Gelcasting
Materials Science Forum, 2005Controllable forming technology is one of the key problems for the industrial application of gelcasting. In order to solve this problem, various kinds of influence factors in gelcasting were investigated. Trace ions, ionic strength, pH, dispersant agent, premix, amount of initiator and catalyst, temperature, pressure, materials of container and ...

Gelcasting of Mechanochemically Synthesized Hydroxyapatite
Key Engineering Materials, 2007Hydroxyapatite powders were prepared via mechanochemical synthesis method. The starting reagents for HAP powders were vibration ball milled for 2 h and then calcined at 800°C for 1 h. X-ray diffraction patterns and IR spectrum shown that pure crystalline apatite powder (HAP) was obtained.

Tribological Behaviors of Dense Gelcasting Nanocomposites
Materials Science Forum, 2016Gelcasting/pressure less sintered Al2O3/SiC nanocomposites has a low sinterability. Also, mechanical and wear properties of these nanocomposites was degraded. Wear mechanism of low sinterability gelcasting nanocomposites was dominated by fracture mode of surface during wear tests. In this study, gelcasting processing and followed plressureless (PL) and

Gelcasting process of Al2O3/Ni nanocomposites
Materials Letters, 2004Abstract Al2O3/Ni nanocomposites were fabricated by gelcasting an Al2O3/NiO mixture, followed by reduction–sintering process. Dispersant quantity was optimized at 1.75 wt.% with measurement of rheological behaviors to determine the best dispersion state of binary oxides colloidal suspension for casting.
