The Interaction of a Gemini Surfactant with a DNA Quadruplex
DNA secondary structures are stabilized by mono- and divalent cations. To examine the stability of the DNA quadruplex formed from (TTAGGG)4, its interaction with a dicationic Gemini surfactant in standard phosphate buffer was investigated. The Gemini surfactant begins to form micelles in buffer at a cmc (critical micelle concentration) of 1.5 mM.

Ultraviolet (UV) imagers are important for a variety of applications but often require dedicated semiconductor process flows. Here, a versatile capacitive CMOS platform is transformed into a visible‐blind, multispectral UV imager through post‐CMOS functionalization with solution‐processed metal‐oxide nanoparticles. The UV‐induced photodielectric effect

Cationic ester-containing gemini surfactants as retarders in acrylic dyeing
Two ester-containing cationic gemini surfactants (esterquat and betainester types) and one stable cationic gemini surfactant with the same spacer length between the two quaternary head groups were investigated as retarding agents in acrylic dyeing with a

Nanometer Layer Coating to Lactose Particles for Optimization of Dexamethasone Pulmonary Delivery
Nanometer layer coating (NLC) was investigated and its mechanism illustrated by advanced characterization techniques. The effects and application for the inhalation of dexamethasone (DEX) were demonstrated through in vitro and in vivo evaluation. This approach increased DEX bioavailability and enabled the dose to be reduced to 1/30 of the intravenous ...

A biomimetic doppelgänger nanosystem neutralizes extracellular inflammatory cytokines and silences intracellular pyroptosis, reprogramming pathogenic macrophages to attenuate both joint and spine degeneration. ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) and intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) are debilitating musculoskeletal disorders driven by shared ...

A root‐inspired microneedle array patch uses lattice‐based mechanical interlocking to unite rigid microneedles with a flexible substrate. The interlocked rigid–soft architecture improves interfacial bonding, supports stable adhesion on curved and wet tissues under dynamic motion, and provides a versatile platform for robust biointerfacing and future ...

A scalable process converts para‐aramid fibers into soft‐magnetic building blocks via micrometer‐thick Fe0.64Ni0.36 (Invar‐type) coatings. Assembled into paper, they form a hierarchical conductive network whose tunable permeability enables thin, lightweight microwave absorption in the low‐frequency (S‐band) regime.

A polar dispersant, aromatic‐functionalized polyacrylate (AFPA), enables the formation of a uniform CBD network by enhancing miscibility with PVDF and suppressing phase separation. This leads to α‐phase crystallization of PVDF and aligned CNT networks within the CBD, resulting in well‐connected structures that improve cohesion, electron/ion transport ...
