Towards the Physical Map of the Trypanosoma cruzi Nuclear Genome: Construction of YAC and BAC Libraries of the Reference Clone T. cruzi CL-Brener [PDF]

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1997
Strategies to construct the physical map of the Trypanosoma cruzi nuclear genome have to capitalize on three main advantages of the parasite genome, namely (a) its small size, (b) the fact that all chromosomes can be defined, and many of them can be ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Early Radiation Therapy Response Assessment Using Multi‐Scale Photoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tomographic and mesoscopic photoacoustics capture intratumoural features of radioresistance and response. ABSTRACT There is a critical unmet clinical need to identify biomarkers that predict and detect radiation therapy (RT) response in cancer. Using the unique capabilities of multi‐scale photoacoustic imaging (PAI) to depict tumor oxygenation and ...
