Summary Plastic responses of plants to their environment vary as a result of genetic differentiation within and among species. To accurately predict rangewide responses to climate change, it is necessary to characterize genotype‐specific reaction norms across the continuum of historic and future climate conditions comprising a species' range. The North

Biological age acceleration associates with Alzheimer's disease plasma biomarker levels
Abstract INTRODUCTION Epigenetic clocks associate with neuropathology and Alzheimer's disease (AD) clinical risk, but findings are mixed regarding whether clocks associate with blood‐based biomarkers and in non‐European populations. METHODS We calculated biological age and age acceleration from blood methylation data in 704 older Hispanic adults and ...

Multi‐omic expression of the VEGF family relates to Alzheimer's disease across diverse populations
Abstract INTRODUCTION The vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling family plays a role in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD). Previous work has shown widespread effects of the members FLT1, FLT4, and VEGFB on AD outcomes. However, these analyses have focused within the non‐Hispanic White (NHW) population.

Fungal Effectors in Biotrophic, Necrotrophic and Hemibiotrophic Pathosystems: A Systematic Review
This study compares the mechanisms of action of effectors across different fungal lifestyles. Biotrophs secrete effectors that suppress plant defences, necrotrophs release effectors that induce cell death by activating defence responses, and hemibiotrophs combine both strategies.

Introduction Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is known to increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), but the role of the gut microbiota in this relationship is not fully understood. This study investigated the gut microbiota profiles of adults with T2DM, adults with AD, both conditions (AD–T2DM), and healthy controls to identify patterns associated ...
