Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Modeling the blood–brain tumor barrier is challenging due to complex interactions between brain microvasculature and glioma cells. We present two‐photon polymerized 3D micro‐porous capillary‐like structures that support endothelial alignment, cytoskeletal organization, and pericyte‐endothelial‐glioma tri‐cultures.

The Escherichia coli gene pool
Current Opinion in Microbiology, 2001Wild Escherichia coli are superbly adapted to survive in the intestines of their mammalian hosts and in the environment. E. coli K12 derivative (MG1655) encodes 4288 potential genes that provide the background genetic framework of this species. Particular E.

Divergent gene pools in rice improvement
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1983The objective of the present study was to investigate the genetic architecture of yield in diverse populations of rice. Multivariate analysis by Mahalanobis's D(2) statistic and canonical (vector) analysis revealed that panicle weight, days to maturity, plant height and seed size were the important forces contributing towards divergence.
