Identification of gag and env gene products of human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV)

Virology, 1984
The gag and env gene products of human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV) were identified with rabbit antisera against the synthetic peptides and a polypeptide produced in Escherichia coli, which corresponded to parts of the proteins predicted from the nucleotide sequence of HTLV [M. Seiki, S. Hattori, Y. Hirayama, and M. Yoshida (1983). Proc. Natl.

Characterization of human immunodeficiency virus gag/pol gene products expressed by recombinant vaccinia viruses

Virology, 1988
Recombinant vaccinia viruses containing either the entire gag/pol gene or the reverse transcriptase (RT) domain of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) were constructed. In mammalian cells infected with the recombinant vaccinia virus containing the gag/pol gene, major and minor polypeptides of 55 and 41 kDa were made, but processed gag products (p24 ...

Isolation of recombinant partial gag gene product p18 (HIV-1Bru) from Escherichia coli

Journal of Chromatography A, 1989
The membrane-associated structural protein, p18, of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1), has been expressed in Escherichia coli. The recombinant protein was purified by cation-exchange chromatography on S Sepharose followed by cation-exchange high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) on Sulfoethyl Aspartamide.

Monoclonal antibodies to feline sarcoma virus gag and fes gene translational products

Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, 1983
AbstractA series of hybridomas have been isolated which produce monoclonal antibodies directed against polyprotein gene products of the Gardner, Snyder‐Theilen, and McDonough strains of FeSV. Within these are representatives of several immunoglobulin classes including IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG2c, and IgM.

Expression of HIV-1 gag and pol Gene Products using Recombinant Baculoviruses

1990
Since its original description some years ago (Smith et al., 1983a, 1983b), recombinant baculoviruses have become an increasingly popular method for the expression of heterologous gene products. Genes of interest are introduced into the genome of the Autographica callfornica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcNPV) to give a helper independant recombinant ...

Human monoclonal antibody directed against gag gene products of the human immunodeficiency virus.

The Journal of Immunology, 1988
Abstract Tonsillar B lymphocytes from an asymptomatic individual infected with HIV were transformed with EBV. A cloned lymphoblastoid cell line was obtained that secreted human mAb (IgG4 subtype) against the known gag gene products of 55,000 and 25,000 Da and a protein of 40,000 Da.

Expression of the human immunodeficiency virus gag gene products by a replication-incompetent herpes simplex virus vector

Virus Research, 1998
A recombinant replication-incompetent herpes simplex virus vector (vd120/Gag) that expressed the human immunodeficiency virus 1 gag gene and part of the pol gene that encodes the HIV-1 protease was constructed. Examination of cells infected with vd120/Gag revealed the presence of the Gag polyprotein Pr55gag by 12 h post-infection, as well as abundant ...

Interferon-γ Is Associated with the Surface of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Binds to the gag Gene Product p17

AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses, 1989
Purified HIV-1 antigen preparations produced in cell culture were found to contain interferon-γ (IFN-γ). Electron microscopic examination of HIV-1 released by H9 cells, a cell line found to produce IFN-γ, showed the presence of this molecule on the surface of the virus particle.

Purification and characterization of the gag gene products of avian-type C retroviruses by high-pressure liquid chromatography

Analytical Biochemistry, 1981
Abstract A rapid and efficient method for separating the translational products of the gag gene of avian-type C retroviruses by employing a high-resolution gel permeation column, high-pressure liquid chromatography and volatile solvents has been described.

Translation of gag, pro, and pol gene products of human T-cell leukemia virus type 2

Journal of Virology, 1989
Sequence analysis of human T-cell leukemia proviral DNA revealed three open reading frames arranged at a -1 position relative to one another. On the basis of homology to other retroviruses, these open reading frames were assigned to the gag, pro, and pol genes.
