Strong and Fatigue‐Resistant Hydrogels via Poor Solvent Evaporation Assisted Hot‐Stretching for Tendon Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An anisotropic hydrogel (AHs) is prepared in this study. The strength of AHs can reach up to 33.14 ± 2.05 MPa, and it exhibits unique defect‐insensitive characteristics. Cracks can only deflect along the fiber alignment direction, demonstrating an interesting self‐protection function.

Near‐Freezing‐Temperature Golgi Neuronal Staining for X‐ray Imaging of Human Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A near‐freezing temperature staining strategy, combined with a mercury chloride‐based method, effectively preserves delicate neuronal structures in post‐mortem frozen human brain tissues by minimizing autolysis. This approach enables uniform labeling across centimeter‐scale slices and, when integrated with synchrotron‐based X‐ray microscopy, achieves ...

PHOSPHO1 Suppresses Ferroptosis in Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cells by Reducing the Levels of Phosphatidylethanolamine Molecular Species

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Iron‐induced lipid peroxidation of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) species is the key driver of ferroptosis. The authors discovered that PHOSPHO1 lowers the level of PE in retinal pigment epithelial cells thus reducing the formation of lipid peroxides. Lowering PE levels can also prevent the creation of autolysosomes, reduce the production of free iron ...
