Extension of analytical indicial aerodynamics to generic trapezoidal wings in subsonic flow [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Journal of Aeronautics, 2018
Analytical indicial aerodynamic functions are calculated for several trapezoidal wings in subsonic flow, with a Mach number 0.3≤ Ma≤ 0.7. The formulation herein proposed extends well-known aerodynamic theories, which are limited to thin aerofoils in incompressible flow, to generic trapezoidal wing planforms.

A Study on Improvement of Aerodynamic Characteristics of the Next-Generation SST Wing by Lateral Blowing in Subsonic Flow.

open access: yesJOURNAL OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY FOR AERONAUTICAL AND SPACE SCIENCES, 2001
An experimental study on the improvement of aerodynamic characteristics of a modified arrow wing by applying lateral blowing in subsonic flow has been conducted. The modified arrow wing, which is one of the baseline configurations of the proto-type of next-generation SST, is selected for the experiments.

The finite element method in low speed aerodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes
The finite element procedure is shown to be of significant impact in design of the 'computational wind tunnel' for low speed aerodynamics. The uniformity of the mathematical differential equation description, for viscous and/or inviscid, multi ...

Integral-equation methods in steady and unsteady subsonic, transonic and supersonic aerodynamics for interdisciplinary design [PDF]

open access: yes
Progress in the development of computational methods for steady and unsteady aerodynamics has perennially paced advancements in aeroelastic analysis and design capabilities. Since these capabilities are of growing importance in the analysis and design of

Fully unsteady subsonic and supersonic potential aerodynamics for complex aircraft configurations for flutter applications [PDF]

open access: yes
A general theory for study, oscillatory or fully unsteady potential compressible aerodynamics around complex configurations is presented. Using the finite-element method to discretize the space problem, one obtains a set of differential-delay equations ...

Overview of the Applied Aerodynamics Division [PDF]

open access: yes
A major reorganization of the Aeronautics Directorate of the Langley Research Center occurred in early 1989. As a result of this reorganization, the scope of research in the Applied Aeronautics Division is now quite different than that in the past.
