Behavioral Medicine in the General Hospital

Psychosomatics, 1989
The application of behavioral procedures to the treatment of medical disorder has greatly expanded the techniques available to the psychiatrist practicing in the general hospital. While there are diverse behavioral strategies that have proven quite useful, the bases for these are limited and readily implemented in the hospital setting.

Behavioral Workload Generation for IPTV

2018 IEEE 8th International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2018
The increasing number of households with access to broadband communication networks makes the transmission of broadcast content in the form of Internet protocol television feasible. In this context, IPTV is attractive both as an instrument of customer retention as well as an additional source of revenue for telecommunication providers.

Type A behavior and illness in general

Journal of Behavioral Medicine, 1984
Based on questionnaire responses from 206 college women, relationships were found between the Type A and Speed and Impatience factors from the Jenkins Activity Survey and various indicators of illness. Those scoring high on these factors reported considerably more physical symptoms, in general, than those scoring low.

Mock-object generation with behavior

21st IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE'06), 2006
Unit testing is a popular way to guide software development and testing. Each unit test should target a single feature, but in practice it is difficult to test features in isolation. Mock objects are a well-known technique to substitute parts of a program which are irrelevant for a particular unit test.

Behavior treatment: General considerations

Integrative Physiological & Behavioral Science, 2005
The principal goal of behavior treatment for retarded clients is that of modifying behavior as it occurs in a given environment in such a manner that it becomes more appropriate to that environment. The therapeutic or change agents can involve a variety of persons other than the counselor, teacher, and client--this may include parents, peers, work ...

Conditioning and Generalization of Influence Behavior

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1965
Ss were run in 3-person groups. On the basis of a discussion period, Ss rated one another on leadership, quality of ideas, participation, self-confidence, and influence. In a group guessing situation which followed, S with the lowest summed rating was reinforced for his guesses and the other group members for following him.

Automatic generation of an agent's basic behaviors

Proceedings of the second international joint conference on Autonomous agents and multiagent systems, 2003
The agent approach, as seen by \cite{Russell95}, intends to design ``intelligent'' behaviors. Yet, Reinforcement Learning (RL) methods often fail when confronted with complex tasks. We are therefore trying to develop a methodology for the automated design of agents (in the framework of Markov Decision Processes) in the case where the global task can be

Generating Various and Consistent Behaviors in Simulations

2009
In multi-agent based simulations, providing various and consistent behaviors for the agents is an important issue to produce realistic and valid results. However, it is difficult for the simulations users to manage simultaneously these two elements, especially when the exact influence of each behaviorial parameter remains unknown.
