Active Yet Cautious: How Middle States Navigate Status in the Universal Periodic Review
ABSTRACT This article examines how states positioned in the middle of the international status hierarchy behave in the United Nations Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Addressing ecological challenges from a quantum computing perspective
Abstract With increased access to data and the advent of computers, the use of statistical tools and numerical simulations is becoming commonplace for ecologists. These approaches help improve our understanding of ecological phenomena and their underlying mechanisms in increasingly complex environments.

CISO: Species distribution modelling Conditioned on Incomplete Species Observations
Abstract Species distribution models (SDMs) are widely used to predict species' geographic distributions, serving as critical tools for ecological research and conservation planning. Typically, SDMs relate species occurrences to environmental variables representing abiotic factors, such as temperature, precipitation, and soil properties.

Nonclassical Measurement Error in Farmland Markets with Implications for Ricardian Analysis

We examine the extent to which land value measures that are commonly used in studies of the US farmland market are subject to nonclassical measurement error. We consider differences in county‐level land values from two popular data sources: (1) self‐reported ...

Resource windfalls and political sabotage: Evidence from 5.2 million political ads
Abstract We study the role of incentives in inducing sabotage in political contents, vis‐à‐vis natural resource windfalls. The latter induce plausibly exogenous increases in contests' stakes by extending opportunities for policy implementation or private gain upon winning and enhancing incumbent advantage.
