A Hybrid Recommender System for Sequential Recommendation: Combining Similarity Models With Markov Chains

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
With the growth of artificial intelligence technology, the importance of recommender systems that recommend personalized content has increased. The general form of the recommender system usually analyzes the users' log information to provide them with ...

On the general transformation of Markov chains

open access: yes, 2022
In this work, we consider a class of homogeneous irreducible discrete states Markov process  ,  taking values in a partition of some topological space  . Using  a notion of fractional state,  we introduce a general transformation

PDIA6–SCD1 Axis Rewires Lipid Metabolism to Drive Gastric Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein disulfide isomerase A6 (PDIA6) is identified as an oncogenic driver in gastric cancer. PDIA6 directly binds and stabilizes SCD1 by limiting its ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation, thereby sustaining monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA)‐enriched lipid homeostasis and lipid metabolic reprogramming.

Characterization of geological uncertainties from limited boreholes using copula-based coupled Markov chains for underground construction

open access: yesUnderground Space
This paper proposes an efficient method for quantifying the stratigraphic uncertainties and modeling the geological formations based on boreholes. Two Markov chains are used to describe the soil transitions along different directions, and the transition ...

Generating Maps Using Markov Chains

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment, 2013
In this paper we outline a method of procedurally generating maps using Markov Chains. Our method attempts to learn what makes a "good" map from a set of given human-authored maps, and then uses those learned patterns to generate new maps. We present an empirical evaluation using the game "Super Mario Bros.," showing encouraging results.

Exceptional Antimodes in Multi‐Drive Cavity Magnonics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Driven‐dissipative cavity‐magnonics provides a flexible platform for engineering non‐Hermitian physics such as exceptional points. Here, using a four‐port, three‐mode system with controllable microwave interference, antimodes and coherent perfect extinction (CPE) are realized, enabling active tuning to antimode exceptional points.

Extraction of exact symbolic stationary probability formulas for Markov chains with finite space with application to production lines. Part I: description of methodology

open access: yesFrontiers in Manufacturing Technology
IntroductionMarkov chains are a powerful tool for modeling systems in various scientific domains, including queueing theory. These models are characterized by their ability to maintain complexity at a low level due to a property known as the Markov ...

Harmonic spectral components in time sequences of Markov correlated events

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
The paper concerns the analysis of the conditions allowing time sequences of Markov correlated events give rise to a line power spectrum having a relevant physical interest.

Game Theoretic Interaction and Decision: A Quantum Analysis

open access: yesGames, 2017
An interaction system has a finite set of agents that interact pairwise, depending on the current state of the system. Symmetric decomposition of the matrix of interaction coefficients yields the representation of states by self-adjoint matrices and ...
