Minimal invasive surgery in paediatric urology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Minimal invasive surgery (MIS) has developed tremendously during the last 20 years. Nowadays, a wide spectrum of ablative and reconstructive procedures in urology can be done in adults as well as in children.

Hybrid Continuum Robot Designs and Architectures for Healthcare Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Hybrid continuum robots represent an emerging class of flexible manipulators that blend materials, structures, and actuation concepts from the established fields of soft and continuum robotics. This review introduces an accessible framework to distinguish key hybridization approaches, surveys current designs aimed at complex clinical applications, and ...

Mitigating Cancer Therapy–Related Cognitive Impairment by Targeted Activation of Undruggable Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An RVG‑engineered exosomal saRNA delivery system (RVG‑EVs‑saPtpro) effectively targets and activates hippocampal PTPRO, functioning as a “molecular brake” to alleviate cancer therapy‑related cognitive impairment (CTRCI) by enhancing neuronal survival, neurogenesis, and synaptic plasticity.

Provider perspectives on shared decision-making regarding hypospadias surgery

open access: yes, 2020
Introduction: Many parents experience decisional conflict and decisional regret around hypospadias surgery. The utilization of a shared decision-making (SDM) process may mitigate these issues, however addressing the principal components of the SDM ...

Single‐Cell Dissection of Therapy‐Induced Remodeling Uncovers a Fibroblast‐Driven Immunosuppressive Niche and Targetable Vulnerabilities in Lethal Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell longitudinal profiling reveals that androgen‐deprivation therapy induces a DPT+ fibroblast‐complement axis that suppresses macrophage inflammation and drives CD8+ T cell exhaustion in prostate cancer. Concurrently, resistant epithelial subpopulations persist and engage TSPAN1‐ and NRXN1‐mediated programs promoting CRPC and neuroendocrine ...

User-centered development of a hypospadias decision aid prototype

open access: yes, 2020
Introduction: Many parents who choose hypospadias repair for their sons experience decisional conflict (DC) and decisional regret (DR). We previously found that parental decision-making about hypospadias surgery is a complex process characterized by ...

Aptamer‐Engineered Liposomal Platform Enables in Situ cDC1 Vaccination to Potentiate Immunotherapy in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer is immunologically ‘cold’, with scarce, dysfunctional type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) that limit T cell priming. We introduce an aptamer‐targeted liposomedelivering FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and chlorin e6 (Ce6). Ultrasound induces antigen release and cDC1s recruitment, creating an in situ cDC1 vaccine.

History of establishment and evaluation of Ottoman-Turkish urology inside the surgical science

open access: yesİstanbul Kuzey Klinikleri, 2019
The first urological international organization occurred in Paris in 1908, and three Ottoman urologists were present among a total of 29. In that year, the Ottoman Urological society had only nine urologists, and almost all were from the Ottoman ...

UDP‐Glucose‐6‐Dehydrogenase Mediated O‐GlcNAcylation of Tight Junction Protein 1 Suppresses Metastasis in Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our research unveiled a regulatory paradigm wherein TRIM25 orchestrates the ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of UGDH. UGDH modulates the protein stability of TJP1 by regulating O‐GlcNAcylation levels, effectively impeding the metastasis of ccRCC. Our insights elevate UGDH to a pivotal biomarker and tumor suppressor, marking the first demonstration that ...
