Prediction Model for Etiologic Differentiation of Isolated Vestibular Syndrome in Emergency Settings
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for differentiating central from peripheral etiologies in patients with isolated vestibular syndrome (VS). Methods In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, 506 patients with isolated VS from five hospitals were divided into derivation (n = 301) and validation (n = 205)

Identification Robust Confidence Sets Methods for Inference on Parameter Ratios and their Application to Estimating Value-of-Time [PDF]
The problem of constructing confidence set estimates for parameter ratios arises in a variety of econometrics contexts; these include value-of-time estimation in transportation research and inference on elasticities given several model specifications ...

Diffusion Tractography Biomarker for Epilepsy Severity in Children With Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy
ABSTRACT Objective To develop a novel deep‐learning model of clinical DWI tractography that can accurately predict the general assessment of epilepsy severity (GASE) in pediatric drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) and test if it can screen diverse neurocognitive impairments identified through neuropsychological assessments.

Treatment Effects on Ordinal Outcomes: Causal Estimands and Sharp Bounds
Assessing the causal effects of interventions on ordinal outcomes is an important objective of many educational and behavioral studies. Under the potential outcomes framework, we can define causal effects as comparisons between the potential outcomes ...

Confidence intervals for the random forest generalization error
We show that the byproducts of the standard training process of a random forest yield not only the well known and almost computationally free out-of-bag point estimate of the model generalization error, but also give a direct path to compute confidence intervals for the generalization error which avoids processes of data splitting and model retraining.

Decreased Serum 5‐HT: Clinical Correlates and Regulatory Role in NMJ of MG
ABSTRACT Objective Although 5‐Hydroxytryptamine (5‐HT) indirectly stimulates muscle contraction and participates in regulating Acetylcholine receptor (AChR) cluster homeostasis in cellular, animal, and clinical studies, evidence regarding its potential to modulate muscle contraction in myasthenia gravis (MG) remains limited.

ABSTRACT Background Apolipoprotein ε4 (APOE ε4) is a potent genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its role in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) remains unclear. Given the clinical and pathological similarities between CSVD and AD, this study aimed to investigate the associations of APOE ε4 gene dosage with cognitive function and
