Identification Robust Confidence Sets Methods for Inference on Parameter Ratios and their Application to Estimating Value-of-Time [PDF]
The problem of constructing confidence set estimates for parameter ratios arises in a variety of econometrics contexts; these include value-of-time estimation in transportation research and inference on elasticities given several model specifications ...

Focused information criterion and model averaging for generalized additive partial linear models
We study model selection and model averaging in generalized additive partial linear models (GAPLMs). Polynomial spline is used to approximate nonparametric functions.

Remote Monitoring in Myasthenia Gravis: Exploring Symptom Variability
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare, autoimmune disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness and potential life‐threatening crises. While continuous specialized care is essential, access barriers often delay timely interventions. To address this, we developed MyaLink, a telemedical platform for MG patients.

Confidence intervals for the random forest generalization error
We show that the byproducts of the standard training process of a random forest yield not only the well known and almost computationally free out-of-bag point estimate of the model generalization error, but also give a direct path to compute confidence intervals for the generalization error which avoids processes of data splitting and model retraining.

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...

In this paper, the reliability of a k-component system, in which all components are subject to common stress, is considered. The multicomponent system will continue to survive if at least s out of k components’ strength exceed the common stress.

Forecasting the maximum compensation offer in the automobile BI claims negotiation proces. [PDF]
Most motor bodily injury (BI) claims are settled by negotiation, with fewer than 5% of cases going to court. A well-defined negotiation strategy is thus very useful for insurance companies.

Predicting Loss of Ambulation in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy R9
ABSTRACT Background Limb girdle muscular dystrophy type R9 (LGMDR9) results from biallelic variants in FKRP. There is limited data to predict loss of ambulation (LOA) among those with LGMDR9. Methods Participants in an ongoing dystroglycanopathy natural history study (NCT00313677) with FKRP variants who had achieved ambulation and were more than 3 ...

Generalized Pareto Copulas: A Key to Multivariate Extremes
This paper reviews generalized Pareto copulas (GPC), which turn out to be a key to multivariate extreme value theory. Any GPC can be represented in an easy analytic way using a particular type of norm on $\mathbb{R}^d$, called $D$-norm.

A General Method of Determining Fixed-Width Confidence Intervals
Summary: A general method for determining stopping rules to obtain a fixed-width confidence interval of prescribed coverage probability for an unknown parameter of a distribution is obtained. Asymptotic theory in the sense of \textit{Y. S. Chow} and \textit{H. Robbins} [Ann. Math. Stat. 36, 457--462 (1965; Zbl 0142.15601)] is discussed.
