Generation of Skew Convex Polyominoes. [PDF]
We study the family of skew polyominoes, an intermediate class between L-convex and 4-stack polyominoes, defined by geometrical constraints satisfied by pairs of rows/columns. The problem of enumerating this family according to the semi-perimeter (size) is open, and can lead to a simplified enumeration of Z-convex polyominoes.

Abstract Traversodontids are non‐mammaliaform cynodonts, herbivorous to omnivorous, that lived during the Triassic. In the Late Triassic, some members of this group increased in body size relative to other cynodont lineages and evolved postcranial adaptations associated with locomotion.

Humans and platyrrhines share a pattern of articular variance
Abstract Previous work has identified a pattern of articular shape variation in modern human limb joints, in which convex joint surfaces exhibit constrained variance relative to their more variable concave conarticulars. This pattern is notable given that joint morphogenesis is influenced by local biomechanical environments, which vary substantially ...

ABSTRACT High‐resolution and accurate synoptic images of terrestrial topography, even in densely forested areas, have proven valuable for archaeology by enabling the identification and characterization of relief patterns associated with ancient human activities. This study presents a novel approach that integrates digital terrain models (DTMs) obtained

Abstract The linear‐quadratic regulator (LQR) problem of optimal control of an uncertain discrete‐time linear system (DTLS) is revisited in this paper from the perspective of Tikhonov regularization. We show that an optimally chosen regularization parameter reduces, compared to the classical LQR, the values of a scalar error function, as well as the ...
