Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

A Conditional Fourier-Feynman Transform and Conditional Convolution Product with Change of Scales on a Function Space II

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2017
Using a simple formula for conditional expectations over continuous paths, we will evaluate conditional expectations which are types of analytic conditional Fourier-Feynman transforms and conditional convolution products of generalized cylinder functions

Exploring Curvature Effects in Direct‐Written 3D Curved Hollow Magnetic Nanoshells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fabricated by a hybrid FEBID/CVD method, 3D PtC/Co3Fe core–shell heterostructures with engineered curvature and shell thickness exhibit complex reversal modes with axially symmetric N'eel‐type domain walls. XMCD‐PEEM combined with full‐scale micromagnetic simulations reveal how curvature and thickness govern the domain wall energy landscape and shape ...

Generalized convolution quadrature based on the trapezoidal rule

open access: yes, 2023
We present a novel generalized convolution quadrature method that accurately approximates convolution integrals. During the late 1980s, Lubich introduced convolution quadrature techniques, which have now emerged as a prevalent methodology in this field ...

On a generalized convolution of incidence functions

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2000
The author defines a class of convolutions (called by him \(K\)-convolutions) on the set of incidence functions defined on a locally finite partially order set. This generalizes the \(K\)-convolutions on the set of arithmetical functions [see e.g. \textit{P. J. McCarthy}, Introduction to arithmetical functions, Springer, New York (1986; Zbl 0591.10003)]

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.

Matrix equation representation of the convolution equation and its unique solvability

open access: yesSpecial Matrices
We consider the convolution equation F*X=BF* X=B, where F∈R3×3F\in {{\mathbb{R}}}^{3\times 3} and B∈Rm×nB\in {{\mathbb{R}}}^{m\times n} are given and X∈Rm×nX\in {{\mathbb{R}}}^{m\times n} is to be determined. The convolution equation can be regarded as a

Convolution algebras arising from Sturm-Liouville transforms and applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
A regular Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem gives rise to a related linear integral transform. Churchill has shown how such an integral transform yields, under certain circumstances, a generalized convolution operation.

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.
