Generalized Couette–Poiseuille flow with boundary mass transfer
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1998In cylindrical coordinates \((r,\theta,z)\) the Navier-Stokes equations for steady pseudo-axisymmetric flow of the second kind admit similarity solutions that mimic pressure driven flow of a viscous fluid through an infinitely long straight annular pipe with porous, rotating, translating, twisting and accelerating cylinder walls.

General Three‐Dimensional Disturbances to Inviscid Couette Flow
Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1991The general solution to the linearized equations governing three‐dimensional disturbances to inviscid Couette flow has been obtained. This result extends the Orr solution to initial conditions that do not consist of a single Fourier sine component in the cross‐stream coordinate and a plane wave in the streamwise/spanwise coordinates. The time evolution

A general solution to unsteady, coupled magnetohydrodynamic couette flow
Applied Scientific Research, 1970A general solution to nonsteady coupled magnetohydrodynamic plane Couette flow by the method of Fourier series expansion is presented in this paper. Two particular examples of the utility of the solution are included: 1) an impulsive start of the wall, and 2) a wall velocity proportional to (1 − exp(− αt)).

Journal of Nanofluids
In this work, the flow profile in a generalized Couette flow of nanofluids with convective cooling was investigated numerically. The study’s specific goals were to create a flow model for a scenario involving nanofluids in a channel and ascertain how ...

General solution for the Couette flow profile
Physical Review E, 1999A general solution for the Couette velocity profile is reported. Taylor's classical one-dimensional profile is shown to be a special case of this solution for configurations whose aspect ratio is large. Numerical evaluation indicates that error between the two profiles is a logarithmic function of the aspect ratio and provides data to estimate when ...

Generalized Boundary Interactions for Powder Lubricated Couette Flows
Journal of Tribology, 1996AbstractApplication of grain flow theories to powder lubrication of hydrodynamic bearings requires careful consideration of slip of the flow velocity at the boundaries together with appropriate formulation of the fluctuation (thermal) velocity conditions at the boundaries. Generalized boundary conditions that can be applied to a wide variety of surface

General Solution for Perturbed Plane Couette Flow
The Physics of Fluids, 1971A closed-form general solution for perturbed plane Couette flow is reported. The solution shows that certain dynamical modes feature an intermediate period of resonance-like growth prior to the final period of viscous decay.

On generalized incompressible couette flow in hydromagnetics
Applied Scientific Research, Section B, 1961In this paper, the pressure-induced flow between two relatively moving plane walls has been discussed, both for non-porous and porous walls. For non-porous walls it is found that with the vanishing of the electric fieldE, the increase in the strength of the magnetic field can cause separation near the stationary wall even when a slight adverse pressure
