On the derivations, generalized derivations and ternary derivations of degree $n$
Rendiconti del Circolo Matematico di Palermo Series 2, 2022In this paper, we introduce the concepts of derivation of degree $n$, generalized derivation of degree $n$ and ternary derivation of degree $n$, where $n$ is a positive integer, and then we study algebraic properties of these mappings. For instance, we study the image of derivations of degree $n$ on algebras and in this regard we prove ...

Generalized Derivations and Generalized Jordan Derivations of Quaternion Rings
Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions A: Science, 2021Let S be a unital ring in which 2 is invertible, and let $$R=H(S)$$ be the quaternion ring over S. In this paper, we characterize the generalized derivations of R and show that every generalized Jordan derivation on R is a generalized derivation.

The customary language-theoretic derivative of a word u with respect to a word v means the deletion of v from the beginning or end of u. We investigate the natural generalization, where v can be deleted from an arbitrary position in u. Apart from general closure and decidability properties, we pay special attention to regular languages, obtaining an ...

In this paper, an extension of the orthogonality results for dominant operators, \(p\)-hyponormal and log-hyponormal operators is presented. Some generalized commutativity results are also obtained.

DERIVATIONS ON MORITA RINGS AND GENERALIZED DERIVATIONS
Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, 2011In this note, derivations on Morita rings (generalized matrix rings) are introduced and generalized derivations on rings are proved to be Morita invariant without involvement of any homology theory.

A generalization of leftmost derivations
Mathematical Systems Theory, 1977A generalization of leftmost derivation called depth-first derivation is defined. The main result, that the depth-first derivations of an arbitrary phrase-structure grammar generate a context-free language, is proved using a new technique in which families of equivalent depth-first derivations of one grammar are represented by single productions in a ...

Conciliating Generalized Derivatives
2013As a new illustration of the versatility of abstract subdifferentials we examine their introduction in the field of analysis of second-order generalized derivatives. We also consider some calculus rules for some of the various notions of such derivatives and we give an account of the effect of the Moreau regularization process.

Generalized global monotonicity of generalized derivatives
International Transactions in Operational Research, 1994The gradient and the several kinds of its generalizations provide a very efficient tool in characterizing important properties of functions. Convexity and generalized convexity, which are central properties in many branches of Operational Research, can also be characterized by special properties (monotonicity and generalized monotonicity) of the ...
