Artificial Intelligence for Advanced Functional Materials: Progress and Emerging Frontiers
Artificial intelligence is transforming the discovery of functional materials by linking synthesis, characterization, simulation, and design in unified workflows. Advances in machine learning, autonomous experimentation, and foundation models are accelerating innovation across energy, electronics, and biomedicine, while revealing new frontiers for ...

Intervals in Generalized Effect Algebras and their Sub-generalized Effect Algebras [PDF]
We consider subsets G of a generalized effect algebra E with 0∈G and such that every interval [0, q]G = [0, q]E ∩ G of G (q ∈ G , q ≠ 0) is a sub-effect algebra of the effect algebra [0, q]E.

Generalized Jacobian analysis of lower mobility manipulators [PDF]
Mainly drawing on screw theory and linear algebra, this paper presents a general approach for Jacobian analysis of lower mobility manipulators. Given the definitions of twist/wrench spaces and their subspaces of the end-effector, the underlying ...

Designing Wire Mazes for Replicating Natural Echoes to Study Bat Biosonar Function
A validated framework combining efficient physical modeling (multiple scattering model) and deep learning is presented to guide wire‐maze design for bat biosonar studies. This approach rapidly generates large datasets to test acoustic distinguishability among wire arrangements.

Abstract This paper derives a firm‐level threshold, the Herfindahl Neutral Point, from the standard concentration index used in merger review. At this threshold, a marginal expansion leaves the index unchanged. Firms below the threshold reduce concentration when they expand; firms above it increase concentration.

Farm labor scarcity and its uneven impacts on crop producers in the United States
Abstract This study is the first to evaluate the impacts of farm labor scarcity on producers in the United States across different crop production systems. Between 2002 and 2017, we disentangle the effects of labor scarcity from the impacts of rising commodity demand, technological change, and supply of other inputs on labor market outcomes.

A Note on Extensions of Generalized Effect Algebras to Effect Algebras
Abstract We present an example that the usual natural extension of a generalized effect algebra to an effect algebra need not preserve infinite suprema, i.e., the original generalized effect algebra need not be a ( $$\sigma $$

Graphics calculators and algebra [PDF]
The personal technology of the graphics calculator is presently the only one likely to be available widely enough to influence curriculum design and implementation on a large scale.

Toward a Behavioral Reserve Model in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Objective Behavioral impairment is common in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and strongly affects autonomy, caregiver burden, and outcomes, yet predictors of vulnerability remain unclear. We investigated whether premorbid regulatory traits and socio‐educational exposures are associated with behavioral phenotypes in ALS within a behavioral reserve ...

More on PT-Symmetry in (Generalized) Effect Algebras and Partial Groups
We continue in the direction of our paper on PT-Symmetry in (Generalized) Effect Algebras and Partial Groups. Namely we extend our considerations to the setting of weakly ordered partial groups.
