Hammett Equation and Generalized Pauling's Electronegativity Equation

Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Sciences, 2004
Substituent interaction energy (SIE) was defined as the energy change of the isodesmic reaction X-spacer-Y + H-spacer-H --> X-spacer-H + H-spacer-Y. It was found that this SIE followed a simple equation, SIE(X,Y) = -ksigma(X)sigma(Y), where k was a constant dependent on the system and sigma was a certain scale of electronic substituent constant. It was

GENERALIZATIONS OF THE CHUA EQUATIONS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1992
In this paper we present two generalizations of the equations governing Chua’s circuit. In order to obtain the first generalization we simplify Chua’s equations by replacing the piecewise-linear term with a signum function. The resulting simplified system produces a double scroll similar to the one observed experimentally in Chua’s circuit.

Generating equations approach for quadratic matrix equations

Numerical Linear Algebra with Applications, 1999
The author gives an algorithm for the numerical solution of a quadratic matrix equation with the Hamiltonian matrix. The algorithm transforms the Hamiltonian matrix into a skew-Hamiltonian one. This is then transformed in several steps into a block diagonal matrix with the left upper block having again a block-diagonal structure with blocks of order 1 ...

Strongly Regular Generalized Equations

Mathematics of Operations Research, 1980
This paper considers generalized equations, which are convenient tools for formulating problems in complementarity and in mathematical programming, as well as variational inequalities. We introduce a regularity condition for such problems and, with its help, prove existence, uniqueness and Lipschitz continuity of solutions to generalized equations ...
