Unraveling Quantitative Sensing Mechanism and Predictive Molecular Metrics for High‐Performance OFET Amine Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel chloro boron subphthalocyanine/polymer blend OFET sensor achieving 0.005 ppb limit of detection for ammonia at room temperature and high selectivity against similar amines. An original theoretical framework is proposed to describe the sensing mechanism, relating analyte molecular volume and Lewis basicity to sensor ...

Comparison of nonhomogeneous regression models for probabilistic wind speed forecasting

open access: yes, 2013
In weather forecasting, nonhomogeneous regression is used to statistically postprocess forecast ensembles in order to obtain calibrated predictive distributions.

Dual‐Layer Living Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Delivery of Phages and Probiotics for Synergistic Wound Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer living hydrogel, ProΦGel, integrates bacteriophages and probiotics for synergistic wound infection therapy. The outer gelatin‐based matrix releases phages on demand in response to P. aeruginosa infections, while inner alginate beads sustain probiotic delivery.

Evidence for Non‐Stationarity in the GEV Shape Parameter When Modeling Extreme Rainfall

open access: yesWater Resources Research
It is now well established that climate change is increasing the intensity of extreme rainfall. What is less well established is how best to model these changes.

Modeling of Extreme Temperature Using min-Generalized Extreme Value Distribution

open access: yesScholars Journal of Physics, Mathematics and Statistics
Extreme value theory (EVT) is one of major importance in many fields of applications where extreme values may appear and have detrimental effects and finally Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution model is found as the best fitted distribution model. Extreme minimum temperature using 40 years of data is studied.

Metallofullerenol Sc3N@C80(OH)18: A New Generation Radioprotector Protecting Human Erythrocytes Against Multiple Biochemical Damage Modes Upon Gamma Irradiation, Identifying It as a Scavenger of Short‐ and Long‐Lived Radicals

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Metallofullerenol Sc3N@C80(OH)18 demonstrates strong radioprotective properties as a scavenger of both short‐ and long‐lived radicals. The study reveals protection of human erythrocytes from γ‐radiation–induced biochemical damage via post‐irradiation removal of primary and secondary reactive oxidants, supported by pulse radiolysis kinetics.

Regional Flood Frequency Analysis Using L-Moments Based on Clustering in Urmia Lake Basin [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2012
For determining homogeneous regions and estimation of maximum flood in various return periods, cluster method and regional frequency analysis using linear moments are used in areas without hydrometric stations.

Precise Control of Drug Release in Machine Learning‐Designed Antibody‐Eluting Implants for Postoperative Scarring Inhibition in Glaucoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a micro‐sized, biocompatible implant for postoperative sustained delivery of anti‐fibrotic antibodies in glaucoma surgery. Machine learning‐guided optimization of polymer composition, implant geometry, and porosity enabled precise control of drug release.

A Spatial Risk Analysis of Springtime Daily Minimum Surface Air Temperature Values for Vineyard Site Selection: Applications to Pinot noir Grapevines throughout the Willamette Valley American Viticultural Area

open access: yesAgronomy
This study introduced the application of concepts and methods from extreme value theory (EVT) to estimate the probability that daily minimum temperatures exceed springtime critical temperature thresholds for Pinot noir buds and young shoots as a function
