Coupling dynamic response of saturated soil with anisotropic thermal conductivity under fractional order thermoelastic theory.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
In this paper, a two-dimensional (2D) thermo-hydro-mechanical dynamic (THMD) coupling analysis in the presence of a half-space medium is studied using Ezzat's fractional order generalized theory of thermoelasticity.

Analytical solution for vertical load transfer of cast-in-place piles considering shear-induced volumetric contraction across shaft-rock joints

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
In soft rock strata, the vertical load transfer behavior of cast-in-place piles is significantly influenced by the roughness of shaft-rock joints.

The Zografos-Balakrishnan Odd Log-Logistic Generalized Half-Normal Distribution with Mathematical Properties and Simulations

open access: yesStatistics, Optimization & Information Computing, 2019
In this paper, A new class of distributions called the Zografos-Balakrishnan odd log-logistic Generalized half-normal (ZOLL-GHN) family with four parameters is introduced and studied. Useful representations and some mathematical properties of the new family include moments, quantile function, moment Generating function are investigated.

Estimation for constant-stress accelerated life test from generalized half-normal distribution

open access: yesJournal of Systems Engineering and Electronics, 2017
In the constant-stress accelerated life test, estimation issues are discussed for a generalized half-normal distribution under a log-linear life-stress model. The maximum likelihood estimates with the corresponding fixed point type iterative algorithm for unknown parameters are presented, and the least square estimates of the parameters are also ...

ESTIMATION AND OPTIMAL PLANS OF MULTIPLE RAMP-STRESS ACCELERATED LIFE TESTS FOR THE GENERALIZED HALF-NORMAL DISTRIBUTION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, 2018
Accelerated life tests are commonly utilized in manufacturing industries to induce early failures of highly reliableproducts. In this paper, estimation and optimal design issues of multiple ramp-stress accelerated life tests are discussedfor the generalized half-normal distribution.

Influence of a magnetic field on double-porosity photo-thermoelastic materials under Lord–Shulman theory

open access: yesOpen Physics
This study explores the influence of a magnetic field on a two-dimensional photo-thermoelastic material with a dual porous structure, based on the Lord–Shulman theory of thermoelasticity.

A half-normal distribution scheme for generating functions and the unexpected behavior of Motzkin paths

open access: yes, 2016
We present an extension of a theorem by Michael Drmota and Mich le Soria [Images and Preimages in Random Mappings, 1997] that can be used to identify the limiting distribution for a class of combinatorial schemata. This is achieved by determining analytical and algebraic properties of the associated bivariate generating function.
