Eigenvalue Dynamics of a Central Wishart Matrix with Application to MIMO Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the dynamic behavior of the stationary random process defined by a central complex Wishart (CW) matrix ${\bf{W}}(t)$ as it varies along a certain dimension $t$.

Limitations of Using the Incomplete Gamma Function to Generate Egg Production Curves

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1981
Abstract Incomplete gamma curves were fitted to data of percent production per week for laying hens by using linear regression to estimate the parameters in the logarithmic transformation of the equation. However, incomplete gamma curves are incapable of predicting an abrupt change from increasing to decreasing production. As a result, predictions of

On order statistics from the Gompertz–Makeham distribution and the Lambert W function

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2013
The aim of this paper is twofold. First, we show that the expected value of the minimum order statistic from the Gompertz-Makeham distribution can be expressed in closed form in terms of the incomplete gamma function.

On the Approximation of a Generalized Incomplete Gamma Function Arising in Heat Conduction Problems

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2000
The authors investigate the following generalized incomplete gamma function \[ \Gamma(\alpha, x;b)= \int^\infty_x t^{\alpha-1} e^{-t- b/t}dt,\quad x>0,\quad \text{Re}(b)\geq 0,\quad b\neq 0, \] towards obtaining asymptotic expansions when \(x\to\infty\), and \(\alpha\) is unrestricted for negative values.

Olink Proteomics Analysis Reveals Heterogeneous Responses to FcRn Blockade in Anti‐AChR Antibody‐Positive Myasthenia Gravis: FGF‐19 as a Novel Biomarker

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to systematically observe the clinical manifestations, immune cell subsets, and dynamic changes in serological indicators in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) before and after efgartigimod (EFG) treatment. Methods We analyzed the baseline data, laboratory parameters, and lymphocyte subset proportions in MG ...

A Versatile Distribution Based on the Incomplete Gamma Function: Characterization and Applications

open access: yesMathematics
In this study, we introduce a novel distribution related to the gamma distribution, referred to as the generalized incomplete gamma distribution. This new family is defined through a stochastic representation involving a linear transformation of a random

Spinal Cord Infarction Versus Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis: Clinical, Radiological, and Functional Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.
