Entity Personalized Talent Search Models with Tree Interaction Features

open access: yes, 2019
Talent Search systems aim to recommend potential candidates who are a good match to the hiring needs of a recruiter expressed in terms of the recruiter's search query or job posting.

Posterior mode estimation in dynamic generalized linear mixed models. (REVISED, June 2000) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Dynamic generalized linear mixed models for longitudinal data combine the generalized linear mixed model and the dynamic generalized linear model dealing with the case that both unit- and time-specific parameters are allowed.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Genome-Wide Association Study for Nodule Traits in Guar

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
Guar [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] is a diploid legume crop cultivated for galactomannan (guar gum) extracted from the endosperm of the seed. Previous studies have suggested that nodulation of guar can be poor in field conditions; however, solid ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Longitudinal method comparison: modeling polygenic risk for post-traumatic stress disorder over time in individuals of African and European ancestry

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics
Cross-sectional data allow the investigation of how genetics influence health at a single time point, but to understand how the genome impacts phenotype development, one must use repeated measures data.

MCMC for Generalized Linear Mixed Models with glmmBUGS [PDF]

open access: yesThe R Journal, 2010
The glmmBUGS package is a bridging tool between Generalized Linear Mixed Mod- els (GLMMs) in R and the BUGS language. It provides a simple way of performing Bayesian inference using Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods, taking a model formula and data frame in R and writing a BUGS model file, data file, and initial values files.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
