Tameness and Artinianness of Graded Generalized Local Cohomology Modules [PDF]

open access: yesAlgebra Colloquium, 2015
Let R=⊕n ≥ 0 Rn be a standard graded ring, 𝔞 ⊇ ⊕n > 0 Rn an ideal of R, and M, N two finitely generated graded R-modules. This paper studies the homogeneous components of graded generalized local cohomology modules. We show that for any i ≥ 0, the n-th graded component [Formula: see text] of the i-th generalized local cohomology module of M and N ...

Kuga–Satake Construction on Families of K3 Surfaces of Picard Rank 14

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 8, Page 1894-1916, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The isometry between the type IV6 and the type II4 hermitian symmetric domains suggests a possible relation between suitable moduli spaces of K3 surfaces of Picard rank 14 and of polarized abelian 8‐folds with totally definite quaternion multiplication. We show how this isometry induces a geometrically meaningful map between such moduli spaces

A trace–path integral formula over function fields

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We show that an arithmetic path integral over the ℓ$\ell$‐torsion of a Jacobian J[ℓ]$J[\ell]$ is equal to the trace of the Frobenius action on a representation of the Heisenberg group H(J[ℓ])$H(J[\ell])$, up to an explicitly determined sign.

Weinstein neighborhood theorems for stratified subspaces

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract By analogy with Weinstein's neighborhood theorem, we prove a uniqueness result for symplectic neighborhoods of a large family of stratified subspaces. This result generalizes existing constructions, for example, in the search for exotic Lagrangians.

Heights on ‘hybrid orbits’ in Shimura varieties

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We prove the ‘hybrid conjecture’ which is a common generalisation of the André–Oort conjecture and the André–Pink–Zannier conjecture, in the case of Shimura varieties of abelian type.

Recognising flag varieties and reductive groups

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract Fix a flat and projective morphism X→Σ$X\rightarrow \Sigma$ of schemes. We show, first, that any set of P1${\mathbb {P}}^1$‐fibrations on X$X$ defines a set of simple roots, a set of simple coroots and a Cartan matrix C$C$. Second, X$X$ is an étale F${\mathcal {F}}$‐bundle over some projective Σ$\Sigma$‐scheme, where F${\mathcal {F}}$ is the ...

Torsion pairs via the Ziegler spectrum

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We establish a bijection between torsion pairs in the category of finite‐dimensional modules over a finite‐dimensional algebra A$A$ and pairs (Z,I)$(\mathcal {Z},\mathcal {I})$ formed by a closed rigid set Z$\mathcal {Z}$ in the Ziegler spectrum of A$A$ and a set I$\mathcal {I}$ of indecomposable injective A$A$‐modules. This is as an extension

Syntomic cohomology and real topological cyclic homology

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We define motivic filtrations on real topological Hochschild homology and its companions. In particular, we prove that real topological cyclic homology admits a natural complete filtration whose graded pieces are equivariant suspensions of syntomic cohomology.

Lefschetz decompositions of Kudla–Millson theta functions

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract In the 1980s Kudla and Millson introduced a theta function in two variables. It behaves as a Siegel modular form with respect to the first variable, and is a closed differential form on an orthogonal Shimura variety X$X$ with respect to the other variable. We prove that the Lefschetz decomposition of the cohomology class of that theta function
