Politicians and climate change: A systematic review of the literature

open access: yesWIREs Climate Change, Volume 15, Issue 6, November/December 2024.
Politicians are crucial actors in the quest for solutions to the climate action puzzle. While they are a focus of an emerging literature, this has not to date been subjected to systematic analysis. To address this gap, we perform a systematic review of articles on politicians and climate change.

A Note on Generalized Parabolic Marcinkiewicz Integrals with Grafakos–Stefanov Kernels

open access: yesSymmetry
This paper focuses on studying the generalized Marcinkiewicz integral operators with mixed homogeneity over symmetric spaces. By making an appropriate decomposition of the aforementioned operators and tracking certain estimates, the boundedness of these operators is established from the homogeneous Triebel–Lizorkin space F.p0,τ(Rd) to the Lp(Rd) space ...

Who Runs for Higher Office? Electoral Institutions and Level‐Hopping Attempts in Germany's State Legislatures

open access: yesLegislative Studies Quarterly, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 481-549, August 2024.
Do electoral institutions matter for subnational legislators’ career choices in a multi‐level polity? The paper considers this question by analyzing candidacies of sitting German State MPs for the Federal parliament (“level‐hopping attempts”), leveraging cross‐ and within‐legislature variation in electoral rules (due to the widespread adoption of mixed‐

Reduction procedure for obtaining solutions of the scalar additive Jump problem and Riemann boundary value problem in vectorial Clifford analysis

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 11, Page 8611-8625, 30 July 2024.
In this paper, we study existence of solutions to the scalar additive Jump problem and the Riemann boundary value problems in the context of vectorial Clifford analysis on domains with fractal boundaries. A reduction procedure is applied with great effectiveness to find the solution of the problems.

On noncommutative distributional Khintchine type inequalities

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 56, Issue 7, Page 2278-2295, July 2024.
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to provide distributional estimates for the series of the form ∑k=1∞xk⊗rk$\sum _{k=1}^\infty x_k\otimes r_k$ with {xk}k⩾1$\lbrace x_k\rbrace _{k\geqslant 1}$ being elements from noncommutative Lorentz spaces Λlog1/2(M)$\Lambda _{\log ^{1/2}}(\mathcal {M})$ and {rk}k⩾1$\lbrace r_k\rbrace _{k\geqslant 1}$ being ...

Triangular maximal operators on locally finite trees

open access: yesMathematika, Volume 70, Issue 3, July 2024.
Abstract We introduce the centred and the uncentred triangular maximal operators T$\mathcal {T}$ and U$\mathcal {U}$, respectively, on any locally finite tree in which each vertex has at least three neighbours. We prove that both T$\mathcal {T}$ and U$\mathcal {U}$ are bounded on Lp$L^p$ for every p$p$ in (1,∞]$(1,\infty]$, that T$\mathcal {T}$ is also

Statistical identification in panel structural vector autoregressive models based on independence criteria

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, Volume 39, Issue 4, Page 620-639, June/July 2024.
Summary This paper introduces a novel panel approach to structural vector autoregressive analysis. For identification, we impose independence of structural innovations at the pooled level. We demonstrate robustness of the method under cross‐sectional correlation and heterogeneity through simulation experiments.

Legislative performance and the electoral connection in European Parliament elections

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Political Research, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 664-681, May 2024.
Abstract The absence of an electoral connection is a widely held assumption in the scholarship on the European Parliament (EP) and a cause of serious normative concern about the functioning of the European Union. Weak individual legislator accountability is part of this assumption, even if we still know little about the extent to which legislative ...

Factorization in Fourier restriction theory and near extremizers

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 297, Issue 1, Page 195-208, January 2024.
Abstract In Fourier restriction theory, abstract so‐called Maurey–Nikishin–Pisier factorization has often been used as a convenient off‐the‐shelf means to prove certain factorizations of the Fourier restriction operator. We give an alternative approach to such factorizations in Fourier restriction theory.
