Modeling photomolecular effect using generalized boundary conditions for Maxwell equations

open access: yesCommunications Physics
We recently demonstrated via experiments in hydrogels and at a single air-water interface the photomolecular effect: photons directly cleaving off water molecular clusters in the visible spectrum where bulk water has negligible absorption.

Piston-Seals Friction Modeling Using a Modified Maxwell Slip Formation and Genetic Identification Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Improving spontaneity, shifting control, and efficiency are the main goals of actuators for hydraulic automated transmissions. Friction losses of piston-seals play an essential role in achieving these goals.

Generalized Mittag-Leffler Kernel Form Solutions of Free Convection Heat and Mass Transfer Flow of Maxwell Fluid with Newtonian Heating: Prabhakar Fractional Derivative Approach

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2022
In this article, the effects of Newtonian heating along with wall slip condition on temperature is critically examined on unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows of Prabhakar-like non integer Maxwell fluid near an infinitely vertical plate under ...

BPS solutions to a generalized Maxwell–Higgs model [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2011
We look for topological BPS solutions of an Abelian-Maxwell-Higgs theory endowed by non-standard kinetic terms to both gauge and scalar fields. Here, the non-usual dynamics are controlled by two positive functions, G(| |) and w(| |), which are related to the self-dual scalar potential V(| |) of the model by a fundamental constraint.

Generalized Maxwell–Higgs vortices in models with enhanced symmetry

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2022
AbstractTopological vortices in relativistic gauge theories in flat three-dimensional spacetime are investigated. We consider the symmetry$$\mathrm {U(1)}\times \cdots \times \mathrm {U(1)}$$U(1)×⋯×U(1), and for each$$\mathrm {U(1)}$$U(1)subgroup, a complex scalar field transforming under its action is introduced, as well as generalized permeabilities ...

NEWMARK ALGORITHM FOR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS WITH MAXWELL CHAIN MODEL

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2021
This paper investigates a time-stepping procedure of the Newmark type for dynamic analyses of viscoelastic structures characterized by a generalized Maxwell model. We depart from a scheme developed for a three-parameter model by Hatada et al.

Flow Properties Inferred from Generalized Maxwell Models [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 2009
The generalized Maxwell model is formulated as a nonlinear relaxation equation for the symmetric traceless stress tensor. The relaxation term of the equation involves the derivative of a potential function with respect to the stress tensor. Two special cases for this potential referred to as “isotropic” and “anisotropic” are considered.

Generalized chiral instabilities, linking numbers, and non-invertible symmetries

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We demonstrate a universal mechanism of a class of instabilities in infrared regions for massless Abelian p-form gauge theories with topological interactions, which we call generalized chiral instabilities.

Generalized fractional Maxwell model: Parameter estimation of a viscoelastic material [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
In this paper, we show how fractional viscoelastic models can be efficient in the modeling of linear viscoelastic behavior, increasing the fitting accuracy of classic generalized viscoelastic models, such as the Generalized Maxwell model. Experimental data (Loss and Storage modulus in the frequency domain) were retrieved from a Dynamic Mechanical ...
