Generalized Abstracted Mean Values [PDF]
In this article, the author introduces the generalized abstracted mean values which extend the concepts of most means with two variables, and researches their basic properties and ...

A Type of Mean Values of Several Positive Numbers with Two Parameters [PDF]
In this article, a type of mean values of several positive numbers with two parameters are defined by using the generalized Vandermonde determinant, some basic properties of them are given, and several inequalities for some mean values including the ...

Notes on the Schur-convexity of the Extended Mean Values [PDF]
In this article, the Schur-convexities of the weighted arithmetic mean of function and the extended mean values are proved. Moreover, some inequalities involving the arithmetic mean, the harmonic mean, the logarithmic mean, and comparison between the ...

Bounds for the generalized ( Φ; f)-mean difference
In this paper we establish some bounds for the \( (\Phi;f) \)-mean difference introduced in the general settings of measurable spaces and Lebesgue integral, which is a two functions generalization of Gini mean difference that has been widely used by ...

An approach to the assessment of probabilistic inference is described which quantifies the performance on the probability scale. From both information and Bayesian theory, the central tendency of an inference is proven to be the geometric mean of the ...

The metallic means (also known as metallic ratios) may be defined as the limiting ratio of consecutive terms of sequences connected to the Fibonacci sequence via the INVERT transform. For example, the Pell sequence (invert transform of the Fibonacci sequence) gives the so-called silver mean, and the invert transform of the Pell sequence leads to the ...

On a generalization of u‐means [PDF]
In this paper we present an extension of Bauer′s work about u‐means. We consider a kind of composition of an admissible function u(x) (described by Bauer) and of a compatible function ϕ(x). This construction allows us to define (u, ϕ)‐means. When ϕ(x) = x, the (u, ϕ)‐means are the u‐means introduced by Bauer.

Schur-convexity of the Extended Mean Values [PDF]
In this article, the Schur-convexity of the extended mean values are proved. Consequently, an inequality between the logarithmic mean values and the identity (exponential) mean values is ...
