On Generalized Gini Means and Scales of Means
Results in Mathematics, 1990\textit{Zs. Páles} and the reviewer [Am. Math. Mon. 95, 856-880 (1988; Zbl 0671.26008)] have proved among others that, for any linearly homogeneous symmetric mean M: \({\mathbb{R}}^ n_+\to {\mathbb{R}}_+\), differentiable at (1,...,1), \[ \lim_{t\to \infty}(M(x_ 1+t,...,x_ n+t)-t)=(x_ 1+...+x_ n)/n.

Generation of meanings and symbols in transgression: meaning generation in transgression
Herald of Omsk University, 2023In this article the meaning-generating side of transgression is revealed. The term transgression was introduced and actively used in the works of R. Caillois and G. Bataille. Transgression in this case refers to the experience of establishing and violating social and cultural prohibitions underlying human existence.

Generalized mean spherical approximations
Physical Review A, 1988A criterion for determining the coupling and the exponent [K(\ensuremath{\eta},\ensuremath{\beta}) and \ensuremath{\zeta}(\ensuremath{\eta},\ensuremath{\beta})] of the one-Yukawa generalized mean spherical approximation (GMSA), which better describes a given real fluid, is suggested. The relative spatial configuration of the surface (\ensuremath{\equiv}

Abstract Meaning generation reaches beyond the convenient code-based distinction between the encoding versus the decoding of information. What we need is a more comprehensive perspective that can encompass code-based communication and agency-oriented interpretation, both of which are treated as two subordinate mechanisms of meaning ...

Philosophy Compass, 2017
Abstract This article discusses recent theories of the meaning of generics. The discussion is centred on how the theories differ in their approach to addressing the primary difficulty in providing a theory of generic meaning: The notoriously complex ways in which the truth conditions of generics seem to vary.

Generalization of the Quotient Mean Series
Results in Mathematics, 2019In this paper a new family of generalized Mathieu series, called Quotient mean Matheu series is introduced. Namely, some generalized Mathieu series, like Mathieu (alpha, lambda)- series, Mathieu a-series and their alternating variants are represented in terms of Quotient mean Mathieu series.

Generalized Weighted Mean Programming
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1971Two algorithms for nonlinear programming are given. The idea behind these algorithms is the arithmetic-geometric mean inequality. Two examples are shown together with the necessary proofs of convergence.

An application of generalized means
1959The generalized mean M(x,y) is defined to be Ψ-1 [pΨ (x) + aΨ (y)] where p, a>0, p + a = 1 and Ψ (x) is monotone and continuous. This mean is applied to the second difference. Δ2(f: x, h) = f(x+h) + (f-h)-2f(x) to form a generalized second difference Δ2Ψ (f: x, h) = MΨ [f(x+h), f(x-h)] - f(x).
