Investigation of the Effects of Ownership Structure on Firms Value: Evidence from Tehran Stock Market [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات مالی, 2013
Privatization advocates believe that transfer to private sector increases firm’s performance and value, business environment, and therefore economic growth and welfare improves.

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

Comparison of Two New Robust Parameter Estimation Methods for the Power Function Distribution. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Estimation of any probability distribution parameters is vital because imprecise and biased estimates can be misleading. In this study, we investigate a flexible power function distribution and introduced new two methods such as, probability weighted ...

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Wrapping Generalized Laplace and Generalized Discrete Laplace Distributions

open access: yesAxioms
Generalized Laplace and discrete generalized Laplace models are described and some of their properties are reviewed. For the analysis of directional data, it is natural to consider wrapped versions of these models.

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

A Modification of the Gompertz Distribution Based on the Class of Extended-Weibull Distributions

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
This paper introduces a new four-parameter extension of the generalized Gompertz distributions. This distribution involves some well-known distributions such as extension of generalized exponential, generalized exponential, and generalized Gompertz ...

A Method to Generate Multivariate Data with the Desired Moments [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2008
We show how it is possible to generate multivariate data which has moments arbitrary close to the desired ones. They are generated as linear combinations of variables with known theoretical moments. It is shown how to derive the weights of the linear combinations in both the univariate and the multivariate setting. The use in bootstrapping is discussed

Generalized Autoregressive Method of Moments [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2015
We introduce a new estimation framework which extends the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to settings where a subset of the parameters vary over time with unknown dynamics. To filter out the dynamic path of the time-varying parameter, we approximate the dynamics by an autoregressive process driven by the score of the local GMM criterion function ...
