Efficient Computational Algorithms for Searching for Good Designs According to the Generalized Minimum Aberration Criterion

American Journal of Mathematical and Management Sciences, 2001
SYNOPTIC ABSTRACTGeneralized minimum aberration was introduced by Deng and Tang (1999) as a criterion for comparing and assessing the “goodness” of nonregular fractional factorial designs. For small run sizes, generalized minimum aberration designs can be obtained by a complete search of Hadamard matrices; however, for larger run sizes a complete ...

Design Selection and Classification for Hadamard Matrices Using Generalized Minimum Aberration Criteria

Technometrics, 2002
Deng and Tang (1999) and Tang and Deng (1999) proposed and justified two criteria of generalized minimum aberration for general two-level fractional factorial designs. The criteria are defined using a set of values called J characteristics. In this article, we examine the practical use of the criteria in design selection.

Acceleration of Generalized Minimum Aberration Designs of Hadamard Matrices on Graphics Processing Units

2012 IEEE 14th International Conference on High Performance Computing and Communication & 2012 IEEE 9th International Conference on Embedded Software and Systems, 2012
The process of applying generalized minimum aberration criteria (GMAC) to non-regular fractional factorial designs is extremely computationally intensive. Constructing and ranking all designs can take hours if not days; therefore, exploitation of the massively parallel nature of modern graphics processing units (GPUs) are used to perform the task.

Catalogue of small runs nonregular designs from hadamard matrices with generalized minimum aberration

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2000
Fries and Hunter ( 1980 ) proposed the Minimum Aberration criterion (MA) for selecting regular designs. The regular designs with MA are msot commonly used because they are considered as the best designs. How ever, as pointed out by Chen, Sun and Wu ( 1993 ), there are situations that other designs may better meet the design need.
